My favorite screensaver is none. I just let the monitor go into standby.
Seems unusual that someone would be watching a screensaver unless one is bored.

Sally, try it. Get a brew. Sit back. Relax. Watch. Meditate. Most are not boring.

There is a screensaver I like that emulates the scrolling characters from "The Matrix" BTW it goes well with the grizzle
WB skin (or at least i think so)

At home I don't use a screensaver...but at work, I like using the one that came with Windows Theme 'Science'...it's a glass ball that slowly moves around the screen, and distorts your desktop image underneath...really cool!

One time I downloaded a screen-saver that made the desktop catch on fire. That was really cool but was a shareware and now long gone.

In a workplace a screen-saver would be nice distraction from watching the clock 7 more hours before quiting time.

I had one that was a wire-frame, as well as skinned of various sportscars, eg Diablo, rendered in 3D, light-sourced and rotating in real time...was a heck of a mem/resource-hog, but looked really 'sweet'....Shareware timed out though....

I'm still stuck with the default Screen saver that came with XP. I'm too cheap to pay for em, and too lazy to look through the free sites (too many pop-ups). Does anyone know a good free screen saver site that's actually worth wading through all the ads?

Really Slick Screensavers - http://reallyslick.demonews.com/

This guy did some amazing opengl screensavers. Still on his site, including the source, but I don't think he's doing any new ones. Has about 8 or so now - all *very* good. All adjustable so you can create almost infinite variations. Has a great fireworks one.

Also, Serenescreen (the fish tank that has the 3 fish demo with XP).

I use Dreamrender - http://www.dreamrender.com/

It is nice in that it can also be used to animate your desktop.

i personally like the scrolling marquee you can type in your own personal message, "hey, don't touch my machine" or "look behind you and get out of my chair".

At work, I set some of our systems' screen savers to the scrolling marquee...and typed in "We're not paying you to watch screensavers...now GET BACK TO WORK!"
