WinCustomize email magazine

I have a problem the poll to your left. I like having the extra features of HTML mail as long as they are not abused. 500k+ emails are not fun for a dialup user.

I *always* prefer to receive email in plain text format, because I often pick up my email on my laptop or PDA via the modem in my mobile (cell) phone. So I don't want to be online for any longer than I have to! I appreciate that a lot of people like HTML format though, so it would be nice to have a choice.

I voted for HTML, but now that I think about it, I do review a lot of my mail on my PocketPC (which only supports text). Maybe a multi-part message is the best way. Then the users email client can decide how to display it. So, on my PC, I would see the HTML version, while my PocketPC would render the text version of the same message. Just a thought. I still lean towards HTML format.

The mail program that I use doesn't like html, so I prefer plain text. In the poll, most people prefer html, but most of the people posting here say text. Funny.

We have a poll? Oh wait, there it is...

html email = evil, a mail app is not a browser. Especially nasty when you get html-email-poppup-launching spam or worse incorrect-htm-email-crash-the-app spam. Or in other words: evil, evil!!

This is definatley something that should be a user preference. For the email account I use here, my email program IS a browser, but for others it may not be. I suggest adding a user option under Account settings so people can choose, indiviually, what format they want. Everyone is happy when they can choose for themselves.

/me apologizes for the many typos in his previous hurried post.

The first issue is going out now and it's text only. But eventually you'll be able to pick. 300,000 people to send it out to, it's going to take awhile!

HTML email is evil.

No, serioulsy, HTML email is cool only for font color and size control.
But I REALLY hate it when it start having some images (especially animated), Flash and javascript in them.
Most HTML emails are spam anyway.
