[0.914] Question - Quests working as intended?

Request feedback if I'm off-base.

Right now I don't quite get the current quest system.  The quests I like, but I feel the current implementation encourages a quick-save mentality.  They seem to be too much all-or-nothing.  And maybe I'm just not understanding what is supposed to happen.

To me there seems to be no reason to select the second option in the quest dialogs, ever.  Which essentially makes them prompts.  The only quest I've encountered where it made sense was the arena, and I assume caves. I always select the first option anyway in caves since I'm not 100% sure if selecting the second is just an obscure way of cancelling the quest.

So far there has only been one quest I've done where selecting the second option changed the quest ending more than just simply quitting the quest.  And since the flavor text that pops up really doesn't give much of a clue of what you are agreeing to you essentially have to click 'ok' to really see what you are up against.  Now I don't think it should be spelled out, but currently the option to continue or quit just don't feel like options.  I've had guys accidentally path over a quest and I clicked to avoid it since it was a low champion that had adjusted his pathing, this ended up destroying the quest.

This just seems flat to me, but maybe I'm misunderstanding how they are supposed to work.

Answer, the one shot quests are working as intended, however Derek would like to change them so they don't disappear if you fail the first fight.

That's good to hear.  I guess what I find most frustrating...had to do it again to find out what actually triggered my irritation...is it just *poofs*.  If you click the second option it just goes away without a hint as to what happened.  At least some flavor or feedback.

Example:

Do you wish to enter the cave?

-Enter

-Leave (cancel quest)

This way you know this isn't a forking quest-line, which I believe there are a couple quests that have it to a minor degree.

There is a note in the changelog for the next release that might mean if you fail a quest battle you get another chance.  It might also mean that you could say "No" and not have the quest disappear.  Derek would have to clarify what it means.
