To all you morons kicking because of low game count.

To all you morons kicking because of low game count.

Has it ever occured to you some of us had hundreds of games before the reset (which happened many times afaik) and the fact we don't have 1000 games now just means we have a real life with responsabilities, since the beginning of school and all.

There is always less than 5 games in my custom window whenever I look, so before you kick, ask the question.

Otherwise you can take a scalpel if you have access to any and chop off one of your balls and give it to the BODIES exposition!

My suggestion,

Completly copy the League of Legend way to do things.

-Dont show player # of game but rather gave them a LVL (1-30)

-Show only # of victory game and disconnect or left games. Defeat can still be seen by the owner

- I know copying is not a good thing at school but when other company have great ideas that can maybe help Demigod, I think we should put them in.

- Reason I think this may work, In LoL (League of Legends) we dont see all the problem we see here when making a match.

-Removing dark/light for pantheon is a good idea(Pacov idea). This will help the matchmaking and prevent a little more the double demigod problem we often see in pantheon games.

Laters guys

Seriously?  In beta LoL matchmaking wasn't that bad, but since release LoL matchmaking is seriously fubarred, just go look at the LoL general discusssion forum. I quit solo queing normal games because I went on a 0-11 losing streak post release due to at least one of the following reasons in every single match:

1. being teamed with 1 to 3 complete noobs;

2.  One or two players going AFK or leaving within the first 5 minutes;

3.  People intentionally feeding the other team.

Right now the only way to play a normal game in LoL (a game that counts towards your win total) is to play with a premade, otherwise there is no telling who the matchmaking system will team you with or against.  I've had better luck with practice games than solo queing or duel queing in LoL, because at least in the practice games you can kick players, whereas in the matched games you have no control over selecting your teammates unless you que in as a premade.

Quoting Verity_, reply 23I've played the game since the first beta and have 137 games played since the last reset. I still got kicked from a lobby last night for being a "noob". It wasn't even from a "pro only" game or anything.

People should focus more on creating balanced teams than kick everyone without the perfect number of games played/ win ratio.

Concerning the "balanced" teams, this game is just too hard to carry a noob (or more accurately it is impossible for a Pro to dominate 2+ competent players).  You can put a 70% 70% 20% team against a 50% 50% 50% team and the first team will get slaughtered because the 20% noob will 1) feed, 2) never assist, 3) wont know to lock flags, and 4) doesn't know what a portal scroll is.  There is a threshold level of competency you have to have before you can get a good game going.  I generally like to play games with people that have 50%+ win rate and hundreds of games under their belt.  At that point they should be competent.
End of Melric's quote

I agree, some noobs are just too horrible to play with. I recently played a game with a noob who had played over 300 games and still hadn't learned the basics. He screwed up the game and then raged quit. He had 20% win ratio and a high number of disconnects which I should have checked before launching the game.

My point is that some people never learn while others can be decent after just a dozen games or so. As long as they listen to the advice that you give and go back when you say back I see no problem.

But I guess, if you get 20% win ratio you must suck pretty hard. 40% or 90% doesn't really matter to me as long as the 90% ones don't come in pairs i.e. pre-made.

i guess its good to have a win % of 66 then ey! im right in the middle. :P

Is the community large enough to do this? I mean how are the people who haven't played tons of games every gonna get good enough if we keep kicking them?

That this discussion needs to be had, and so frequently, is not a good thing.

Personally, I think much of this stems from people taking their stats way too seriously.  Enjoy the game win or lose, and look to educate newer players.  You might just find it more enjoyable that way.  ;)

But if they can hold out with a 90% win ratio until the game dies they win the internetz!!!

just to though some oil into the fire ;)

currently i see more and more often that people with <300 (or sometimes even <150) games and win% of <50% are in fact very good players. looking at the stats i more and more get surprised of who finally wins the match. i just wanted to point that out as there seem to be many players that have learned their lesson but they need their time so that their stats show it as well.

I see you hate to be kicked off of a server because of your low game count. I can see how that would get irritating. But, please remeber, that you can Host a game of your own and, as a Host, you can load a description inviting others in your situation. The ablility of someone wanting to host a game and play with a friend is part of the enjoyment of the game. Every online game that is hosted has its own rules. If I and a friend wish to play other folks that we can see and verify a very high game count, well, this allows us to be assured of a challenging game. Skirmish mode was really no different than the Pantheon, with the exception of choosing any demigod in any combo. Why would Stardock add the Skirmish back when you can simply host a game of your own. I actually see quite a bit of people with extremely low game counts. The best strategy for you would be to fix your game stats. If you go into the pantheon and get your games up with good winning percentages. Most people would agree that, if you can go 40 or more games with a 52% win and up, then you are a pretty decent player. So, its not always the low game count more than it is the percentage of wins.

I believe this dynamic will change when (I PRAY VERY SOON), Stardock adds the clan games component **** Please, please!

This should absolutely occur in the Pantheon, if you want to actually win the match and love your stats. I disagree that anyone who would like a nice challenging game with competent players should HAVE to educate or spend thier game time talking anyone through anything except team strategy. (Which to many,  is really the point of thier online component of this game). I appreciate Stardock providing a free service that gives me the ability to simply press the host button and play who I want to play with and how we want to play. Once upon a time, you had to download some server component of a game...maybe even setup a dedicated server...and so on. Please remember, hosting a game is one player making a decision to enjoy the game customized to thier liking. Others can choose to participate with that particular host or, simply press the host button themselves. Purpose of hosting Custom Games is to allow individuals to play with friends and other folks either very seriously (like clans) or as anonymous folks floating through.

On my wish list would be a way to que up for a non-competitive game.

1. Stats would not be recorded.  There would be no number of games counted, and no win/loss ratio.  Whether you win or lose, when it is over, it would matter not, other than maybe some kind of XP or honor to "level" your character.

2. On a 5v5 map, the game would begin once 10 people are que'd up.

3. There would be no queing as a team so premades would not be an issue. If you and your friend que'd at the same time, you might be on the same team, or you might be on opposing sides--IF you were even in the same game.

4. If somebody ragequit or disconnects, a new team member would be brought in from the que at the same level and with the same money as the person who quit.

5. There would be no demigod restrictions as to the side or number of duplicate demigods per team.

It would just be a fun, casual game.  If everybody sucked, it would just be 20 or so minutes of your life wasted, and otherwise no harm done to your "rank."  Leet players could set up their own games elsewhere, as they currently do, and kick whomever they want for whatever reason they want.

I'd like to change my viewpoint on this issue....I kick for teh LULZ.

Well I just played some game that said noob/mid since people keep kicking me for having less than 50 games. Turns out the maker had 500+ games and was a pre with with his 2 other mates that had over 300 games each...

I stayed anyway for the lulz, but shows you how some are pretty pathetic :)

i would think that someone who has as many games as you would understand the predjudices against players with low #games/win %. i dont know how often i have been talked into a game with a noob and really regret it afterwards.

so i think when you explain and are somehow convincing then the people will let you play with them as i have experienced often enough.

also if you just want to play why dont you join noob games? most of the times they are over pretty fast and you get 2 games per evening. that way you will certainly be able to play average/mid games very soon.

I don't care Derog, people who kick before even asking deserve to have one of their ball donated to science.

Inexorable88 is one of these f** !

I would SO love a "casual" game setting.  No rankings or stats, just fun.  That's about all I would play if this was implimented.  In fact, I'm sure I'd go back to playing regularly if that was implimented.

And I'm sure lots of people/noobs would get better if there were unranked games.  They would practice a lot more online.  I know so many times, I wanted to go online and practice, and just the thought of dealing with getting kicked because of low game # or dealing with pros calling you names just made  me grimace (not to mention lowering your win ratio just to get some practice), so I'd just end up playing a solo skirmish vs the AI instead.

I heard anyone could host a game.. c/d?

I think I've seen games listed as "noob only" "NOOOOOBS" "<100 games" etc etc etc.

You think having a low % and number of games played is bad?  Try near a thousand and over 80% wins... people drop from the other team liek flies.. and most people with these sort of records are leaving the game as well.

I had exact same problem yesterday, i came back to check the new demigods , i haventplayed since motnhs cause frankly i was bored of the game very quickly by then.I had hundreds of game played , now its 0.

No one wanted to play with me , constant kicking without even telling me why , really demigod community is the worst and rudest i ever seen , they cheat their so very preciouss stats to have a >50% win by teaming exclusively with people they are certain to win with. The result is theres very few games going on, pantheon tournament is dead, if its not i had not the patience to wait more than 15 min.

I highly suggest new players reading this forum considering buying this game to not get it.

It was a chore at release, no one could connect , now everyone can but the players get so elitist they cant afford to play with you.

and again.. stats got reset.  MOST of the people who have 0 wins 0% are NEW players.  But no, we should ask everyone if they've played before.. wait a couple minutes while they realize we're talking to them.. or maybe they haven't noticed the chat function yet and are busy figuring it out.. or maybe it's you and you just joined and left to go to the bathroom real quick so you aren't responding.  Which one is it?  A new player, liek 90% of the people with 0 wins 0%, or some old elite who finally came back to the game?

Why not join a noob game?  I was unaware all the games said "be absolutely amazing" .. actually I thought it was the opposite.  In fact, I'm pretty positive it is, because I generally struggle way more than 15 minutes to get a lobby filled and I have ~800 games 83% or somethin liek that.  It's a curse to have those high of stats.. be thankful you can play whoever you want to in a hundred games and in the meantime you can stomp noobs while you get back into things.

Something you probably didn't know - having reset stats is a blessing, not a curse.  You get another 500-600 games to play until people stop playing against you.  Several people on the top of the list stopped playing, or have another account, or at the very least, WISH they had another account but don't want to bother paying for it all because they still HAVE their stats.

HOST A NOOB GAME.  HAVE FUN ACTUALLY PLAYING.. if it's too easy.. pick someone you're terrible with.. try out a new spec.  Amazing with all?  Go all random.
