How Come Every Time I Apply An Alien GUI Theme From Theme Manager, It Switchs Back To Classic XP?

I'd really like to apply the alien themes, but apparently they like switching my theme back to Windows Classic. Any tips/solutions? thanks!

Open windowblinds configuration, look for "system info". copy and paste that information here.

Did you use the trial before purchasing Windowblinds?

The trial MUST be un-installed prior to installing the full version, and you need to disable (turn off) all anti-virus and firewalls before installing.

Install from an account with administrative priviledges.

nview should NOT be enabled....it conflicts with Windowblinds.

If you've installed any other customization software such as tranformation packs then you should uninstall them as well. Reboot between all steps.

That's missing the WB version number, what OS it's on, if it's correctly installed/activated, etc. The 5 system lines above it.

By "got an activation code for it" you DO mean you purchased WB's,right? The trial can't be activated and is only good for 30 days. If so you may need to uninstall,re-boot and reinstall through Impulse.

u tell me what impulse is, i'll do that, but yes i did uninstall the trial and purchased WB.

edit: i finally fixed it. just seemed a few tweaking with the programming helps. good that i know so much about computers :D

guywhoneedshelp - May be a good idea to uninstall this version and reboot. Run a scanning program to ensure nothing was left behind and then either install the 'trial' version or purchase WindowBlinds.

ok, i do things my way without rebooting. my computer is turned off only when i'm going on vacation for more than 2 days. it may seem a little bit uncanny, but my way always works. ty for ur help, but i'll stick with my way.

IT IS WORKING FOR ME NOW!

"Your way" being pirating the program? Warez isn't supported here.

I purchased the WindowBlinds bundle from Stardock.com, and used the activation key I got in the mail. I don't have an illegal copy.

AwesomeGuy1 - The warez copy comments were not directed at you.

If you could click on System info in the WindowBlinds Configuration screen and copy the complete info and paste it here including the following-

WindowBlinds version : WindowBlinds x.x (build xx xXX)

WindowBlinds is installed correctly on this PC
WindowBlinds appears to be activated on this PC
Your machine supports per pixel borders on WindowBlinds skins.

(Plug and Play Monitor) 1 is attached to xxxxxxxxx

That will help narrow down what may be causing your issue.

You may also try updating WindowBlinds using Impulse.

Are you using the theme manager to apply the WB?If so, what happens if you apply the same skin with WB6?Is it just one skin(I'm assuming xenomorph)or more.Almost all themes have the corresponding skin in WindowBlinds.Dl it and give it a try.I have Vista,so that's about all I can suggest.Edit.Try this .If you don't have MyColors, follow Darkens extraction instructions carefully, you should end up with an awesome Alienware theme.WWW LinkRead all the way through the thread. It's worth it.

I think the theme manager installs the theme to the Windowblinds directory under Program Files, and hasn't been updated to write it to the Windowblinds folder under Documents and Settings. If you copy the folder over there it will show up in WB and it can be applied. The problem is WB is trying to apply a skin that it can't find. FYI the icon packager portion does the same thing.
