WOW
lots of stuff can be garnered from the photos, lots of advent and vasari

1) the ninja-stars are platforms (and man are they big) ??? (pic 17) maybe not ???
2) one of the advent ships looks like a TEC platform... (pic 13)
3) vasari rely on capships apparently (as, it seems, do the advent?)
4) there appears (appears) to be 3-D placement of platforms... *cross fingers*
5) seems like a lot more 3-D going on, but that could still be staged.
6) Advent have NICE boomerangs (what are their function?)
7) there are green boomerangish projectiles to.
8) SUPERBIG vasari capship? (pic 9) just look at the city on it...
9) pic 12: what the HELL is that thing in the background???

I think 18 on is old photos, but everything else is pretty awesome.

The devs said awhile ago that the biggest ship in the game was the Vasari colony ship (because they live in space and don't really colonize planets).

Looking at the screens I'm really digging the look of the Advent and I can't wait to play as them and the Vasari. As far as the article it seems just like every other SoaSE article out there...

Keep up the good work!

a lot of the pictures appear to have it, but look at photo 12, what appears to be an asteroid in the background has no texture and appears wierd (behind the explosion)
it might just be angle and timing... but it looks funky anyhow.

Whats the Novalith cannon? Pics plz...

EDIT: Nvm. I just found this. Any pics of it?

The smooth grey thing (at least, the top of it--there looks like there's an asteroid behind it) is a ship.

Really? I didn't write it this time haha  IGN played it for the first time and wrote up what they experienced. It's really great for all those people who haven't played it before  I personally really liked the article so the comments people left at the bottom kind of confused me...

i hope there isnt super wepons i like 2 take my time in games and not have t rush off and kill that annoying super wepon that keeps sniping me. And super wepons are gay cos u can just sit there and not attack any 1 while building a good def and get a super wepon and gradually blow up every 1. and that ship must be massive it looks like a frikin planet.

The pics are iincredible. Which is great because im getting my new pc soon.

nice i hope all these piks are building up 2 new races in beta 3. maby only the other races are usable in single player soo we can balance them while we test multiplayer.

Question about pic 7, if you lived around a green star, what colour tan would you get? Oh, and as always...*seizure*

I also remembered, they mentioned the capacity to jump to planets not adjacent as the TEC (i think...)

does that mean what I think that means...?

I liked it too, and it gives a good insigt to the game for newcomers
But for the 2 comments i asked them what they mean. If they cant write a proper criticism for what they are saying, its just nonesense

This was IGN's first look at the game based off the same beta build that everyone else has been playing. We've been told they'll be writing a more full-fledged preview based off a special build we sent them that will have more detail.

Hah! You lied!

From the IGN hands on:
One of the high level military techs, called a Novalith Protoype, unlocks a weapon that can blast other planets without actually having to invade their gravity wells.

Ts, ts, ts.

Where is my Novalith cannon thingy? Me wants one!
