How do I get rid of "My Email" "Internet" icons etc.?

PLEASE HELP!

So on the object dock I added Firefox, Microsoft Word, etc. and that all appears on the right side of my object dock. But the stuff on the left that has a generic picture and stuff like "Internet" "My E-mail" etc is still there. How do I get rid of that? PLEASE HELP!

Click and drag it off the dock.

Make sure lock dragging isn't on. Right click on the dock > this dock > lock dragging.
