If you installed WB via SDC then you can uninstall it via SDC too.

How about you guys just write an uninstall to go with it? Either that or plaster a link all over the Windowblinds site with an uninstall app for it. Not everyone uses SDC to install and uninstall your apps, especially since you can easily buy Windowsblinds as a standalone. It needs to have it's own uninstall (complete) bundled with it. Come on guys, stop putting blinders on when you write these programs.

p.s.
All else fails, you can use the Microsoft Installer Cleaner tool to get rid of it... that thing cleans up everything... that is as long as the app programmer wrote the installer following MS's docs on Windows Installer.

Why not just use SDC, like you're supposed to? Its one of the best, and most thorough uninstallers that I've used. Are you running out of Stardock programs to complain about yet, JRCivic? Stardock Central is an integral part of most/all Stardock application delivery systems, and I dont forsee that changing...

JRSCCivic98: If you install via SDC you uninstall via SDC.

If you install via a standalone installer than you uninstall via the add/remove programs which has the standalone uninstaller.

It really is simple.

So in short, it already has an uninstaller!

Or for crying out loud.
Go to start
Click on Control Panel
Click on Programs
Click on Uninstall Programs
Click on WB's and click uninstall
Thats all their is too it.

Sometimes you might want to go into Computer and double click on Hard Drives, and then click on Programs, scroll down until you get to Stardock and the Object Desktop and click on that. Window Blinds should not be there if you uninstalled it. If it is just delete it.
That should take care of it. But like the guys said You really want to use SDC to load and unload WC software. Much easier.

There should be uninstall information in Add/Remove regardless of what you use to install it. It just makes more sense that way. Also, I lost count on how many times I've uninstalled WB from a system and it leaves stuff behind, but then again so does every other program known to man so it seems no one can get it right anyway.

Install it via SDC and then go to add/remove programs. See if it's listed..... yeah, you want me to put salt on your foot before you stick it in your mouth?

Has anybody found the uninstall info for JRCCivic98? No matter how he got here, I'd sure like to remove him.

Go work at a fast food restaurant. You'll have more than enough to keep you busy telling them how it should be done....for a day or 2 before they get sick of you and install a foot up your ass as they remove you out the door....

Why, SDC is the installer/uninstaller for Stardock apps; I use SDC for all Stardock I can, have never even looked in add/remove to see if any are listed as there is no need to.

OK, since everyone is so smart here. I've got one for you since I felt like testing things out a little. On Vista, if you install SDC and then install WB via SDC you obviously don't get an uninstall under add/remove in Control Panel. We're all clear on that. Here's the clincher.... if you then uninstall SDC you're left without a way to uninstall WB at that point. Not only that, but if you reinstall SDC and you still can't uninstall WB. You have to rerun the install for WB out of SDC at least once before you can uninstall it. That's a definate problem. I haven't tried it on XP yet, but there's no reason why it would be any different on that. Someone might want to fix that one... don't you think?

Why uninstall SDC....? taking up too many system resources....too much hardrive space?

Someone might want to fix that one... don't you think?

Just bc you broke yours doesn't mean mine needs fixing

It's My Secret

the way it's always worked for me:

if i install a standalone - it shows up in add/remove
if i install via SDC, the SDC becomes my uninstaller

if you then uninstall SDC you're left without a way to uninstall WB at that point.

seems logical that if you uninstall the uninstaller....

Not only that, but if you reinstall SDC and you still can't uninstall WB. You have to rerun the install for WB out of SDC at least once before you can uninstall it.

maybe that's just a vista thing... I uninstalled SDC / rebooted / installed a new one / rebooted / everything showed up, WB uninstalled fine.

Maybe, I dunno. I haven't gotten a chance to test it under XP yet, but will just to check. I've rechecked this on Vista on two systems and they both behaved the same way.

Also, what's up with all the people on here that keep posting that think "I" have an issue with my ability to install or uninstall WB? Do these people have reading comprehension problems? Here's a cliff note... I'm not the OP here, I'm just substantiating his/her findings and finding out new "issues" as I do this.

Just confirming that uninstalling SDC will not affect WB being listed when you reinstall SDC in xp

^That the whole problem! I can't find it in add-remove programs! I installed it in a Windows Installer and now I can't uninstall it!

Type Window Blinds in Search. Or in Run.. See if that brings it up.
