What good exactly is the "Creative" racial option?

I know what the manual says, but I haven't noticed anything in game play...

I've been picking the creative racial option basically because it sounds like a good deal, but I haven't noticed any benefits in game... Would I be better off placing the point somewhere else?

It's hard for me to be sure, but with Creative picked, sometimes when I reserach something, the next item along the same line will take just 1 week to research, no matter how complex the item is. Of course, that could be lucky, too.

The Devs haven't (Unless I've missed it) defined the actual bonuses afforded by creativity and the additional bonus described for creativity that "Is respected by other races"
Creativity is (I think) what twelvefield said, but what of courage? And wouldn't creative be better suited to discoveries in the style of precursor ship discoveries?

Thought i saw courage somewhere , it gives your land troops or ships a bonus when they outnumbered/ overpowered. I forgot exactly which.

In the racial picks screen, it says it gives ytou a chance of randomly researching abilities no other race has a chance to research, is this incorrect? As I 've also made creative races and seen no apparant bonus.

I have never noticed a benifit when selecting creativity, however I have gotten techs for ultradrive and such that speed up my ships, increase birth rate, as well as some for my research at random. The research one helped everyone though. Are those always included in the game (these were not moral choices), or is that part of creative. I can't remember if I was using the creative option when those came up.

I've been wondering about the creative option ever since GalCiv I. But in both I and II, I can't seem to figure out what the Creative attribute does.

Can one of the devs elaborate on this? Inquiring minds want to know!

I dont think its researching the next thing in line for techs, kuz ive researched more than one tech in a turn without creativity.Id like to know wut exactly it does, but if no one can tell wut it does its probably to weak to bother with.
So stardock folk you should enlighten us...
