-get a desktop theme (for windows)
-get 14 peices of special "collectors edition" jewelry to use when building ships

I preordered game ( Download version) directly from Stardock before release.
Because preorder i can get digital content from Collector Edition. Right?
So how, and where, i can download additional Collectors Editions content?

There i enter my sn# from preorder into the box "Serial Number: ", press the button and got webpage with link on
Bonus Pack. But i already got that Bonus Pack via SDC when i update preload version to retail.
I try to enter my preorder # onto "Collectors Edition Serial Number: " box - nothing happens, only message:
Error 12: Invalid Collectors Edition Serial Number
So, how i can get that Collector Editions Goodies?

Sorry but the Galciv2 AI has & is continuing to blendor my grey matter; a bit of clarification please.

Many of us who preordered were given a temp serial number to use until our game box arrives. We used the temp serial number to preload the game. At this point in time we only have the one number.

Can we download the Collector Edition Goodies directly through the Stardock application or do we enter that temp number in the "Collectors Edition Serial Number: " box you linked to, then hit the register button and download our goodies?

I'm getting the same error as Darth Bobo. I was part of the Totalgaming.net transition, but IIRC, it should be considered a collector's edition electronically.

Here's what I did:

1) Go to https://www.stardock.com/support and get your SN emailed to you.
2) Copy the GalCiv2 SN from the email (it was different from the one I already had) and paste it into the serial number box
3) Download new ship components and desktop theme

I had the exact same problem as the first poster, did what PJ_ said and it worked great. Using the theme right now. Love it, and am relishing in my geekdom.

At last a got that elusive Collectors goodies.

I tried it and it told me my SN was not for a collector's edition.

This did not and still doesn't work for me.

I was able to download the Preload without issue, v1.0.005 and download the final Dll's on the day of release bringing me up to v1.0D.006. I've been playing the game since then just fine.

I logged into Stardock Central and requested my serial numbers be sent to me by email. I received that email with my registered Serial Numbers for products I own. The Serial Number for Galactic Civilizations II was indeed different than the one I received with my Preorder email, however it makes no difference which number I try to use I receive one of two errors on the attempt.

Entering the original Preorder Serial Number or the alternate, which was mailed to me at my request, returns the following errors:

If either key is entered in the Serial Number box & the button pressed I receive this message:
Error 3: Serial Number Is Not Registered To This Account

If either key is entered in the Collectors Edition Serial Number box & the button pressed I receive this message:
Error 12: Invalid Collectors Edition Serial Number

Odd that I'm able to download and/or update/archive GalCiv2 when logged directly into Stardock Central without issue but I'm unable to download the additional Collectors Edition Goodies.

I have the same problem. The serial number that I got in my preorder email and the one from the Stardock request email both say Error 12. I preordered my with TG.net tokens, but I was able to preload the files.

After some mucking around, I got the necessary serial number that was valid for Collector's Edition.

I had the same problem as Ubbax and StBlasius: pre-ordered GCII via TotalGaming.net tokens a while ago, got into the beta, preloaded the final and got it running. But I couldn't get the Collector's Edition goodies.

I had three SNs for GCII: the beta, the pre-order, and the "final", none of which were valid for CE (all gave Error 12). The SN I received for beta was already registered for me against my Stardock account.

So I went to the link that PJ_ gave, and asked for my serial number *again*. Lo and behold, Stardock spat out a *fourth* SN I put that SN into the "Serial Number" box from T-Man's link (note: when I put it into the "Collector's Edition Serial Number" box, I received Error 12 once again) and: "Your Collectors Edition Serial Number has been successfully registered."

I somehow got another serial then I received when I ordered the game. Paste the key in both boxes, and register. hat worked for me.

The desktop team looks great btw, apart from the start bar. The folder texts in it are barely readable...

ive stumbled accross this important information *only* by accident.
before this day i thought that all the bonuses were already included in my pre-ordered stardock download.
which i now know has not been the case.

perhaps you guys could somehow notify electronic-purchase-pre-order people that they still have to go to that link or something?
since some prolly dont know about this ...

Ive got a question regarding the desktop theme. I have installed the collectors edtion bonus pack on top of the pre order download version but I cant find the desktop theme. How do I find it and apply it ?

Capt Scarlet: The bonus pack and the Collector's Edition content are different things. Everyone gets the Bonus Pack, not everyone gets the CE stuff. So first make sure you downloaded the CE stuff, not the bonus pack. There are also two downloads for the CE stuff, a small (~150 kb) one that just enables CE stuff in game and another (~9.6 megs) that has the theme.

If you are positive you downloaded the 9.6 meg CE file, then you should find a shortcut called "Theme Manager" either on your desktop or in the start menu. Open that and look for the Gal Civ II theme. Apply that an you are good to go. Hope that helps.

We are looking into the serial number issue for the CE materials as it should work for all pre-orders.

Ok, I just found the bug in my validation code.  You should be able to see the GC2 Theme now.

All is fine now as I had the wrong serial number. I got my serial number sent to me again and used that one and now I was able to dowload the three items, where as I had only had the bonus pack to download before. Thanks for your help
