Yeah, I get the feeling that anyone who has reviewed it already was actively playing throughout the beta cycle - already having a firm idea of the game. Coming in cold, FE is quite a beast to wrangle with, I'm sure. Plus Holiday season means TONS of games to review. But they ARE coming, and we're equally excited to see what they have to say. :)

ALso, those mobile intel cards are netorious for getting HOT, so turn off some of the more intensive processes (map glow and character outlines) and see if that helps the situation.

Do you have the most recient version of the game (1.2)? I remember a problem like this during the testing phase, but I thought it was fixed.
We've made alot of little tweaks in 1.2 to make gigantic games more bearable, but I think everyone gets some slow-down in late games with 1000+ ships flying around the galaxy at once. I don't see your system having many problems though.
Hey Clemo! To use custom images as portraits or logos, just drop your PNG files (256x256 preferably) into your 'my documents/games/galciv2/mods/logos and portraits" folder, the game should be able to find them from there! Have fun!
