I am actually using XP, and also having trouble with "VidStub.sys". However, In my situation, I am Getting a BSOD upon starting my machine. Which within, it states, "This Error was caused by VIDSTUB.sys. A Process tried to write to read-only memory". I then am allowed to restart my machine. Check this.... Right Click "MyComputer" > "Properties" > "Advanced" > "Performance" - Then Scroll the box in that window all the way down. Then Verify that the "Use Visual Styles on Windows and Buttons" box is checked. If this doesnt work, then i'm not sure what it could be.
