Thanks, Pelaird. Allow me to clarify. This was a spontaneous event. I hadn't fiddled with these settings in months. When the problem first occurred, I checked all those, and they looked normal. Changing these parameters had an effect, but did not stabilize the situation. I could get it back to where I wanted, but the very next click on the start button could produce a different unexpected result. For some unknown reason, the parameters were not controlling the be

Since I posted, the Start11 menu corrected itself. I did not restart the computer or anything like that. I did Reset as you suggested. Consequently, I lost most (but not all) of my pinned tiles, so now I have to rebuild my menu. I will come back if I have any new observations.

So this is weird. The menu had incredibly tiny fonts earlier. In the picture below, the font size is normal, but the button size is wrong. Poking around in the settings seemed to correct it, but the problem comes back. Restarting Start11 from Task Manager has no effect. It seems like a scaling error. The taskbar looks normal. When the the Taskbar Size is set to Small, the second display taskbar is Medium, and the third display taskbar is Large. Restarting the computer has no effect. The size changes are reversible; each time I change Taskbar Size and Restart Explorer, the Taskbar size of th

In the Window 10 style menu, there is an issue with taskbar size on a third display. I have a laptop with a 3840 x 2160 pixel built-in display and two external 2560 x 1440 pixel monitors, One external monitor is connected to a laptop Thunderbolt port, and the second is daisy-chained to the first with a DPI cable. On the second external monitor, I noticed that the taskbar is significantly thicker (~1.5 x the height of the icons) compared on the first external mo
