Thanks for the replies. My apologies, I misread the version number. It is in fact 1.8. Also, Open Shell has been completely uninstalled and the machine was rebooted prior to installing Start10. I have since opened a couple of Word and Excel files and their extensions appear in the Recent Items listing and I have discovered that png files also appear, but no jpg, bmp, etc... regardless of how many times I have opened a particular image.

I'm actually relatively new to Windows 10 and hated the version of its Start menu. I've tried a couple of options to modify it back to something I'm more familiar with. Used Open Shell for a few days but now using Start 10 and liking it a bit more. My only problem though is the files listed in the "Recent Items" listing.
