Hi all, I'm trying out R2P a bit more this weekend. I already have good news (I guess). Being a BETA, I immediately have an annoying bug to report. When R2P gets disconnected, I then proceed to try to login again. Unfortunately, I have to repeat the login process a good number of times until the connection is stable again. Cheers.
Well, this pretty much guarantees I'll only buy the game when it is $20. I find it really disturbing that they'd cut 10 hours out of a game.
They didn't cut, they added. Big difference. :)
It's really nice of you guys to be focusing on worldwide available games. Thanks! :)
Nothing like a good reading... but this is a nice starting point. :)
Impulse is absolutely awesome with speed. About 1.3Mbit consistent download for me (most of the time). I don't know how you guys managed to pull this off even in China. LOL! I get some fluctuating 200-900kbps with Steam... Just get more of the good games widely available and Impulse will most definitely become gaming bliss! Ah, yes... worldwide availability... triple A games... like DA:O... [e digicons]O:)[/e]
Oi Sandro, tudo bom? :) I just realized that I'm starting to use Steam and GamersGate more and more for my online purchases. As much as I like Impulse, they can't offer me most of the good games they have available. That is a real shame... Gamersgate is actually quite nice when it comes to availability. What I can't get from the main site, I can usually get in their UK site (though more expensive). I was finally able to pre-order the Digital Deluxe Edition of Dragon Age Origin
I feel that the forum is flooded by unhappy players and suggestions.
Yup, I get the same feeling. But still your suggestions are great and to the point. Paradox would do well to listen to the improvements being suggested by a lot of people, and get 1C to patch it properly. :)
I look at it this way: If a game is good for 2 weeks of entertainment, it was money well spent. So far Majesty 2 proves to be.
Fair enough... That was actually my line of thought a while ago. But then as more and more games were piling up and the Mrs. started to complain about the bills on admittedly forgotten entertainment, I'm now more picky with what I buy... [e digicons];P[/e]
I'm glad you and others are enjoying the game OsirisDawn. I tried the demo and have been reading the forums at Paradox. M2 does have some improvements and I expect that some good patches will happen. But what about replayability? The game got released with no possibility for random maps. It comes to my mind Hinterland, which is a simpler game that came out last year. I continue to occasionally play it because each new game has a new territory to explore and conquer. M1 had this 10 yea

Well, considering it's limitations, this is a game I won't be buying. You can't really call Majesty 2 a sequel.
WILL THIS NEVER END?!?!?!? [e digicons]o_O[/e] Banned for calling the other guy fool! [e digicons]}:)[/e]
So, bottom line: if you don't particularly mind Steam, you can go right ahead and grab Mass Effect through them. There is no extra hidden DRM on the game.
It's great to see more of your posts around here Coelocanth. [e digicons]:)[/e] EA has added a new activation option to its download manager. And for the honest populations & true customers wherever they are, region unlocking (with/without discriminate pricing) would be a way to combat piracy. This current distribution model fails to perceive a medium that can get their products to the most remote locations, while allowing pirates to benefit from their inaction. The fact that I have an internet connection, despite my location, denotes potential and the perfect selling mechanism for their digital merchandising. Alas, I h
I would say that regional pricing is less of a problem than not being able to buy a game at all. For a game that I really like, I wouldn't mind paying a bit more, as long as it could be made available. It's weird to be faced with a supplier not wanting my money. I don't intend to become a pirate, though jumping through hoops like this when there's this local cheesy market or that shady torrent, taunting me with a pirated version a few days after release... it's a ridiculous conundrum

Stardock is trying to cut a deal with Bethesda, and modding is som
Stardock is good, yes, but Steam tends to have better deals going alot of the time.
You are very correct, unfortunately. I keep reminding myself that patience is required to see Impulse grow to a similar level - as long as Stardock is able to learn from what's happening with the competition. It seems that Steam is busting at the seams and cracking all over from their own weight. You're either very, VERY careful on your purchase, or you
I'm not aware of any significant issues with Demigod at this point. The most recent connectivity update has pretty much, in my view, made it bullet proof.
I was referring to the overall problems that triggered the can't-please-all offer of very limited coupons. For people like me that were unlucky to see this on time (or due to technical glitches), this brought up feelings of dismay and frustration.
As for coupons
As the coupon mentioned, there will be others.
Hi Frogboy. Your direct input is greatly appreciated as always. I'm sure that you're not immune to the headache that Demigod is still causing and it is unfortunate that this situation happened the way it did, and the somewhat frustrated tone from me and others in the same circumstance. When you say that there will be others, I hope that the problems indicated will be addressed. H
