I'm in the middle of business trip, and I do not do major changes like this unless I'm at home base. In the meantime I will monitor things.

I did the purge and reinstalled Group 1.20. Word, PowerPoint, Excel, Visual Studio Code load faster than before the purge & reinstall, but not as fast as with Groupy not installed. I suspect that other applications may be affected but I may not notice it due to reduced frequency of use. Windows 10, totally up to date. All the usual suspects accounted for. Downloaded Groupy on 3/25/19. Rebooted after install.
