You can accomplish this with the Windows 10 style, which allows you to set the Group widths. You can make it look pretty much like the Windows 11 style using the Advanced options. Turn off "Show app list in start menu," and turn on "Use Windows 11 menu style icons." Set the Group widths to say 6 small icons. Now set up a few of your groups, then grab the right side of the menu and drag until a group jumps over to the right side. You now have one menu with two columns of groups, 6 smal
I think I remember something a while ago about issues with Steam games, but for the life of me, I can't remember what it was. As far as pinning to the taskbar goes, try opening the Steam game and then right click the icon in the taskbar and click "pin to taskbar."
I am also running 22635.2915, except the Pro version. I can not reproduce this issue. What Start Menu style are you using?
What version of Windows are you running? Include the Version and OS build info. Does this happen for every app or only certain apps?
Quoting vuther, reply 36 Hello, I'm also seeing this issue when I use auto-hide feature with Start11 v2 and close a program while it's hidden. Anything I can do to not make it do this? For now, I'm using Windows 11 native auto-hide, but I'd prefer to use Start11 <b
FYI: The location of the Quick Launch folder described above is "C:\Users\"Your User Name"\AppData\Roaming\Microsoft\Internet Explorer\Quick Launch" You can also create a New Folder anywhere on your C:\ drive (I suggest your user folder), name it appropriately, optionally you can change the icon from a folder to whatever you like, and then add the shortcuts you want to access. Now, when you select "Pin folder menu" from the Start11v2 Taskbar pins, click "Browse for folder..." and then
You're welcome. There are so many features available with Start11v2 that it can be overwhelming, but once you have been using it for a while you will get the hang of it. We are always here to help if you need it.
There isn't a Users Guide for Start11v2, but I will try to get you started. Open Start11v2 and make sure the toggle is turned on in the top right corner. Now, select the Style of Start Menu you want to use, and then click "Configure Menu." Once there, you will see "Customize menu visual appearance" and if you scroll down you will see "Advanced Options" unless you chose Windows 7 style or Modern style menus. Click "Customize menu visual appearance" and try chang
I haven't seen what the developer's response is, but I think ExplorerPatcher may be on the way out. Experimental builds of Windows 11 have a toggle to completely disable the Windows 10 taskbar code so that ExplorerPatcher either loads the Windows 11 taskbar anyways or Explorer crashes.
You are correct. Quoted from Neowin, Nov. 30, 2023 "As spotted by @PhantomOfEarth on X (Twitter), Windows 11 b
It could be the language difference, but your screen shot is in English. It could also be that I'm running Windows 11 - 22635.2915. I think the reason for having something selected in the context menu is so you can navigate the options with the keyboard instead of a mouse. Shift+F10 is the keyboard shortcut to open the context menu for any app that is in focus, and then you can navigate with the arrow keys or the letter shortcuts positioned by the choices. <img src="ht
This is what I get when I right click the desktop. As you can see, View is selected which is the top item in the menu. If you have customized the OS to open the "Classic" context menu, then no items will be selected when invoked.
If I'm not mistaken, I believe you are remembering a Windows feature which was introduced with Windows 10 for a distinct "Tablet Mode." When you were in "Desktop Mode," the taskbar icons were compacted (closer together), and when you were in "Tablet Mode," the taskbar icons expanded (farther apart) for easier interaction on touch screens. I agree with basj. I don't believe there was ever a feature in Start10 or Start11 that provided taskbar icon spacing control.
There used to be a Registry hack to delay the taskbar thumbnails, but I just tested it and it appears that Microsoft disabled this ability. Maybe Stardock could add this as an option within the Enhanced taskbar section of Start11v2.
The "Start" product was first introduced as Start8 in 2012 to bring back the Windows 7 Start Menu after the release of the abysmal Windows 8 operating system. This is also when I first became aware of Stardock. In addition to Start8, I also purchased Modern Mix. Start10 was released in 2015 to provide alternatives to the Start Menu in the Windows 10 operating system. And Start11 was introduced in 2021 to provide alternatives to the Start Menu in the Windows 11 operating system
Have you completed the purge and install of 1.47.2? Have you seen any more popups or did this resolve the issue?
Start11v2 allows you to pin files, folders, folder menus, and apps to the taskbar. What more could you want?
P.s for a company with a reasonably good product, they provide NO support. Instead of direct you to this forum for DIY help center. That's VERY disappointing.
I think you'll find this forum to be one of the best support systems for any software. I know I do. There are a group of advanced users that will usually reply within a few hours with a solution, and the tech/development team monitors this forum.
I believe that's a Windows 11 default. If you right click the desktop, you will see the top item selected.
If you are an Microsoft 365 (Office) subscriber, you can put anything in your "Personal Vault" on OneDrive which is password protected. There are also third party apps which would provide options to "Lock" or "Hide" files and folders. A simple Internet search will provide these.
I didn't really notice this before, but the Registry setting above is well received. It really speeds up the Context Menu appearance. Thank you, pelaird
