Also, is there a way to specify a certain tab group as the default when you Pin a New icon to the Start11 menu?
No, but if you right-click on a blank area of a Tab and select "New > Pin file...; Pin folder...; Pin website...; or Pin installed application..." the new pin will be made to this tab.
Hi! Is there access to download the previous versions of Start11? Rationale: it should be possible to download and install previous versions, if it is desired by a customer. (Especially if it is a beta-release or if bugs are present). I was expecting previous versions being available at the download page, but I could not find it. Thank you and wishing you all a very nice day! <
This has been fixed and is available as 2.5.1.1. Fixed black icons in universal apps menu when using Win7 style and apply colour to taskbar/start in the OS https://forums.stardock.com/533880/page/1/
Fixes issue with start button positioning when you have no pinned items or running tasks I don't pin anything to my taskbar, so I am pleased you were able to find a solution. Thank you
The 2.51 beta should be available on your downloads which may help.
You seem to have fixed the Start button bug with the vertical taskbar. Thanks.
I believe there is a bug somewhere having to with with displaying the Start button on the vertical taskbar. I have reported it several times, but have yet to see a fix.
I would recommend uninstalling Start11 first. If you don't, you risk having some Start11 registry entries hanging around to screw with Start10.
This feature was added for people who use multiple virtual desktops and have their apps/folders/files on separate start menu pages for each each virtual desktop. This way when they switch virtual desktops, the correct start menu page is shown for that desktop.
Are you using a custom start button? If not, try using a custom start button and see if it works.
With Top aligned taskbar, the widget will only show in "Left Aligned" or "Left start button and center aligned taskbar buttons." I don't believe it will show at all on the vertical taskbar.
Go to the page you want it to open and right-click>Open menu on this page for current desktop. Make sure to right-click on a blank area of the Start menu, not a tab.
I always perform updates by downloading the installers from my account download page https://store.stardock.com/myaccount/products so that I have access to all the versions in case I need to roll back. I actually do this with all my software, because a lot of vendors don't publish old installers.
I believe Stardock is working on a fix for this, and it should be released in a new Beta this week. Keep an eye open in the Start11 2.5 Release Feedback Thread https://forums.stardock.com/533748/page/4/#3958219 for an announcement of the release.
I changed the size of taskbar to multiple rows, but the notification icon is still shown in one row, this is very inconvenient, hopefully this issue will be fixed in future version.
This is normal Windows 11 behavior. You can blame Microsoft for this one. This has been requested many times, but so far we have not seen anything. It may not be possible for Stardock to change this behavior.
If you see these same black icons in the other Stat11v2 styles, I would recommend you uninstall Start11; reboot; install Start11 from a fresh download from your account download page https://store.stardock.com/myaccount/products ; and reboot again. Try this and report back.
Is this issue happening on a secondary monitor or your primary monitor? Check out this thread https://forums.stardock.com/533803/page/1/#3958182
If you go into the Windows settings "Apps > Installed apps," what do the icons look like? Also, open Run (Win+R) and enter "C:\Windows\explorer.exe Shell:AppsFolder" what do the icons look like here?
Make sure you have "Allow the taskbar to be resized" turned on.
Great! Glad you got it sorted out. [e digicons][/e]
You probably should have uninstalled Start10 before installing Start11, but that's moot at this point. You might need to purge and reinstall. See this for instructions https://support.stardock.com/space/SHC/1349320730/Start+Menu+purging+and+re-installing
BTW...even this machine runs Win 10 in a VM... but then it also runs Dos, Win 95, 98, XP, Vista, 7, 8
This sounds really cool! I may try a VM for the first time. I still have all the old installers for these OS's. I could also install old versions of Office. Sounds really fun.
You could do it Like Naroon1 does for his art, and Desktop Screenshots, and create a new thread for the month. You could include links to the other months in your posts so they don't get lost. [e digicons][/e]
There where times when this site used to be sort of a tech site with tech driven people. It mostly has grown to old or not so old men lamenting about the 'good' old times of windows 7/10 and keeping their steam driven tech as long as possible. [e digicons];P[/e]
I think you have gotten the wrong impression here. Windows 10 is a very stable and powerful OS. Many tests have been done to see if Windows 11 is actually faster
Here is the support page for Start11v2. This will get you started, and then ask any other questions here in the forum. https://support.stardock.com/space/SHC/1995800603/Start11+v2+UI
