The base assumptions you've made just don't work. Scaling of both font and icons together will never work for me.

Nothing personal but I am going to stick to my roll your own start menu. For me, it works better. The scaling in Start 11 does not meet my needs. Even if you have tabs, the scaling as is will not work for me. I may look at the product again some day. Thank you for your help. Norm A
Note that scaling the font has very unpredictable results. Things go above top of screen and further to the right. Scaling should also have option for icon size alone, I don't think font should be scaled at all.
Personally, I like the tabs idea. I think I have already run out of room for scaling to allow for extra large icons, but I could increase the scaling if easy tab was organized. I suspect the Start10/11 context menu could be a little bit of a challenge with tabs. Thanks again
Well, I will start by remaining confident. Thank you for your advocacy.
Here are all the viewable icons. I have 64 more. I do not see Stardock making changes to make this. Am I wrong? I am ready to say that Stardock simply does not want to do this. And your statement "don't give up yet" has proved to be a giant waste of my time. Sorry we could not do business. Can I donate my license to somebody? It won't be doing me any good given your firm stand on windows 7 start menu and scroll bars. By the way, different
Well, bottom line is I cannot see all my icons unless I go to all programs. Regarding the windows 7 statement, that;s ok so long as I can see all my icons. That's why it is a show stopper. None of the scaling factors I can apply allow me to see all icons.
We are down to 3 issues. 1) 6 rows with scaling still no scrollbar . Not acceptable 2) Theme that honors system background color does change but the transparency is still too solid and I have the slider at max amount of transparency which is still something with too much solid in it. Max is 62% solid . Seems like too much and looks
I adjusted font and also at least xx icons to max. I have more than you can show, and still no scrollbar. I am at 6 rows but continue to have more icons than you allow. No matter what I do, there is no scrollbar. This is a show stopper.
Attention: Neil Banfield Neil, here is where I stand on Start 11. As I retested two more times, I feel firm in this response. 1) It does a great job of honoring icons, so this is a go. 2) The largest tile is too small for me. This is a show stopper. I must see and appreciate what I am working with. 3) The grid format supports only I think four rows of what I consider small icons. You call them large icons like Microsoft. The r
OK, for some reason, I can see my past post but do not see your response. Consider this to be a partial answer to my previous concern. I have exceeded the number of items I can see although more are clearly there. There does not seem to be a scrollbar. Arrows to scroll down do not work. How do I see my pinned objects beyond the 32 that are there. The next row shows a portion of the next row. Screenshot below. Also, I'd like the icons to have an
Thank you. Next time in win 11, will check that out and yes, the complaints were all directed at Microsoft's Start menu function. [e digicons]:D[/e] [e digicons]:D[/e] [e digicons][/e]
Windows 11 with Start 11 is an absolute No-Go for me The use of any limitations on Start Menu hopefully will be felt by all. I can tell you that with release 22000.160, I had to type into the properties panel for any non-exe file "explorer.exe" before
I believe this did it. Sorry I missed the link earlier. That made the difference. Thanks to Basj!!!
Yes, English install. The only program that has hooks in Malwarebytes. No other programs that I know of have hotkeys. In a few days, maybe will uninstall Malwarebytes and try then. Thanks.
Lastly, the workaround is tolerable, but I have to open another instance of file explorer and the tabs group. It is only the plus sign that is not working.
So sorry, that was my browser where the plus sign was working, so indeed, groupy on my system is still a problem.
I think I know what is going on. Winaero, which I use has a wonderful customization for what folders show up when you display This PC. It is the only file explorer thing where that does not work. So from the groupy perspective, this is good!! Will keep you informed.
Oh, by the way, I also uninstalled, reinstalled and re-activated it with no changes in the plus sign
I think it is time for you to remote in. If that is not part of groupy support, I have another way of doing multiple tabs. Just let me know and I will uninstall this permanently. Unfortunately, that will mean I will not be buying Start11 when it comes out.
SFC /SCANNOW ran clean. I check that almost daily. Thus no further dism stuff
I am responding to the problem I am having on Windows 10. I only mentioned win11 as the problem happens to occur there as well. Groupy 1.4.9.1 is what is installed. It just updated today, though problem exists in system before groupy maintenance Windows 10 21H2, Build 19044.1151 Control N does nothing. It is acting as if it isn't installed but is opening up multiple tabs with tab groups defined
I could swear that when file explorer was opened, I was able to press the title bar's "+" sign and get a new tab in the same window. Now when I press +, absolutely nothing happens. Isn't that a bug? This is happening in both windows 10 and 11.
Will Stardock provide a start menu like the one in Windows 10? There are a few of us who appreciate the beauty of transparency in live tiles. Also, since Microsoft has reserved color changes for the theme to their own start menu, will stardock provide an equivalent for a Windows 10 variant? I would advocate for that.
Just this past few weeks in Windows 11 build 22000.65, Microsoft disabled the hack of registry that allowed the windows 10 start menu to be used in windows 11. But this opens another opportunity for Stardock. Windows 10 and Edgetile (store) Creators Edition worked together to provide the windows 10 start experience. For me, I feel I need customizable tiles to represent pinned folders, pinned customizable exe tile, and all other user data/document tiles. I could c
