Hi Paul Thanks I did have auto arrange turned off.# Turned on and indeed it works as you showed on your screen view. One downside is the system now groups my other icons/shortcuts where it decides, the left hand side in a column, even though I have turned off align to a grid, although that does nothing anyway that I can see. I suppose gaining one thing I have to put up with another, but at least it makes me create new fences groups etc. Thanks for the h

Hi Paul, It did not work as wanted on the original install of Windows 10 and yes that did have desktop management programs installed. I have now installed a clean copy of HP Windows 11 workstation, 64 bit Programs installed are as in the document saved in my dropbox, link here - easier than trying to type them all in https://www.dropbox.com/s/azq79eh8t8em5px/Installed%20prog

Hi Paul, Yes that's the idea. I thought that it was already part of Fences but despite looking I could not 'see' the appropriate setting, is it implemented? Mike

One thing I really would like to have Fences do is if I move a fence over existing icons, move them out of the way automatically. If Windows/I add a shortcut to the desktop or a program creates a shortcut on the desktop screen, sometimes it appears or not as the case may be, under an existing Fence. It would be really good to have the fence(s) kick other solitary icons out of the way. (So I can find them) Too much to ask for? Currently on 4.0.0.3 Instal

Now I know how to fix fences to one of two/three monitors, I have come across an annoying action. Please could this be rectified in an update to Fences 4? Fixing Fences in position on a monitor is great. But once 'fixed' you cannot move them - Great. But here is where its annoying, I can still add icons/shortcuts to a Fence. Which means if its full I have to unfreeze and resize the fence. If I don't I just get a bar at the side of the fence that means there

Update - Realised that I was missing something, it's possible to "fix" the windows using the right mouse click and choosing to "Lock" Fences. It seems to be working correctly now, so it was my fault fences were getting moved. The other comments are still relevant though.

I like Fences - Use it on my main pc and also a laptop. On the main pc I have two or three monitors active or powered on, depending on what I am doing. I'd really like the following actions/features added to Fences 4. 1 When a shortcut or a file is added by windows or a program, Fences should never allow it to hide it under a Fences group, rather should shift it away. 2, Multiple Monitors. I have

New features? How about fixing in V4 the major bugs in V3? (Apologies for adding my comments to yours Hybrid79) I find the new version, whilst more restrictive in licencing is not a problem, does not address any problems I experience in V3. I know Fences does not like multi monitors and if used on a laptop it's not a problem. But in my opinion Object desktop its more suited to a PC and nowadays a lot of users have more than one. Also we tend to turn the screen off but leave the pc run

Lately Fences has been problematical for me. Ugraded to a test of Fences 4 to see if it was better. Windows 11 installed now. Problem is, No its not The system I have is multi monitor. Even using all icons on the main screem, its not working great.I can live with some problems but the below are ones I'd rather not have to. Fences groups used to nudge icons out of the way when I moved a group over or near them. Not happening now. Snapshots work, I can save one b
