I frequent a great 3D VR program called Second Life. If I use any of the CursorFX skinned cursor sets, the cursors blink crazily like they are short-circuiting. This happens only when I move the cursor into the Second Life window. When the cursor is moved outside the SL window, everything is cool. The only way I can resolve this is to switch to Windows Default Cursor settings. Which is no big deal. I know this has something to do with something called interpre

Using the combo of BigDog's counsel, followed by Bebi's CTRL+F5 refresh did the trick. Found it important to insert the cursor into an empty upload field to bring focus to the page for the CTRL+F5 refresh thingy. Thankee peeps. Appreciate the help.
I am in the process of cleaning up the pathname architecture of the Stardock product installs on my puter. The START BUTTON in Metal Vista 3.0 uses ENABLED START BUTTON GLOW, to create a round button, using the GLOW graphic to complete the upper edge of the round start button. With every COPY attempt of that .wmb, assigned a custom name, and untouched, the BUTTON GLOW graphic file, though it appears in t
I am rebuilding a brand new puter, and intend to resubsribe to ObjectDesktop, and other related Stardock products. My experience with Stardock installs being shotgunned all over the place, makes me wannah do it right this time, clean. I am running, and intend to maintain running, only Windows XP SP3. I have no intention of upgrading to Vista. Here is the Directory Architecture I intend to use: All Stardock apps installed in a SINGLE, top-level parent folder at: <
Ahhhhhh ----- DUHHHH ! They are separate icons, which you simply replace with the IconPackager app. DUHHHH ! =)
I too would like to know how to create a dual-stage icon, like the Recycle Bin. I have searched most resources in IconDeveloper, and find no info on this topic. Ty
Thankee-Thankee, Zubaz. Will wait it out.
FIGURED WAS JUST AS EASY TO PUT THE INSTRUCTIONS HERE ALSO. JUST AS A CAUTION, WHEN YOU GET TO THE COLOR PICKER SECTIONS TO CHANGE COLORS, FIRST RECORD THE EXISTING RGB NUMBERS SO YOU CAN RECOVER TO DEFAULT IF YOU BORK THE EDIT AND IT ISN'T WHATCHU LIKE. If you follow these instructions, problem is solved. Essentially, you go into Stardock Skin Studio and execute the following steps: 01 OPEN Metal Vista skin 02 CLICK the Edit Skin button
I entered a step-by-step set of instructions to pull this off at the Metal Vista 3.0 WinCustomize page here: Selected Item, Menu Hightlight Color Editing: [link="https://www.wincustomize.com/skins.aspx?skinid=6228&libid=1&p=3"]WWW Link[/link]
Chuckling. Whaaaaaal. Yeah. The pics now upload successfully. At least that's what the sys server msg reads at the pic update window. One glitch, however. The uploads show as successful now, BUT the PICS THEMSELVES DO NOT CHANGE OR UPDATE TO THE NEW, SUCCESSFULLY UPLOADED ONES. Sighs. Shakin mah head, and smackin it on mah keyboard.
Thank you, Shelby, for your sensitive comments. They are appreciated. The experience with Real Player goes back to pre-Millennium practices. So if they've shifted their stance on things, that's good. Maybe feedback can and does make a diff. When you reach a certain age, things that happened 10 years ago, still feel like they happened yesterday. I was mesmerized by Pong. The response of both Zubaz and yourself make it easy to believe Annie was right, "The sun will come out tomorrow." Again
Well spoken and expressed Zubaz.
QUOTE: "I expect nothing from a trial version except as a vehicle to encourage purchase. Messages like that WITHIN a trial app. Fine. Will live with anything at that level. So long as it stays INSIDE THE APP itself, NOT shotgunning its SPAM to me EVERYTIME I open Icon Properties" Peeps, I don't need a tutorial on trial apps. If you take the time to reread my comments, the focus of my issue relates to the spamming of my entire OS, even when the trial app is CLOSED. I don't need continuo
Just it's presence alone, regardless of it's effect, is an unprecedented intrusion. I expect nothing from a trial version except as a vehicle to encourage purchase. Messages like that WITHIN a trial app. Fine. Will live with anything at that level. So long as it stays INSIDE THE APP itself, NOT shotgunning its SPAM to me EVERYTIME I open Icon Properties. This just STINKS ROTTEN.
I have SERIOUS HEARTBURN with the unprecedented, most intrusive, and invasive embed of an IconPackager message in my SYSTEM ICON PROPERTIES POPUP. "You must register IconPackager (only $19.95 standalone or $49.95 with Object Desktop) to use this feature. Please order at www.stardock.com ." Are you implying the presence of a trial install of IconPackager has shut down standard Windows OS XP functionalities, or what?! Rather than

Allow me to take the opportunity with this issue to vent some long term teeth-grinding issues I have never understood about the entire Stardock Delivery, Install, and Operations Architecture. How does a company that has such dominance in the marketplace, with such an incredible array of killer apps and products, so bork the way it jerks its customers around with splintered, and dramatically inconsistent delivery, installation and operations protocols? Simple case, to come to the point.
