Even though the 2-page ad looks very similar to the game, it looks like it is drawn, and has no actual "game" pictures. I know that I would always blow off any game ad that had no "in-game" pictures, because you didn't really know what the game looked like, and maybe they were trying to hide an ugly interface or something... Anyway, I do like the ad, but I would add obvious "in-game" pictures to future ads. (They don't have to be the focal point, bu

What is the research slider set to? If you just began a game, I believe that it is set to 33% default. Setting research to 100% and setting industrial capacity to 100% should give you the 13 research you are looking for. I believe he/she means setting research slider to 100%, not industrial capacity.

I am considering creating a new Metaverse empire called "the Reavers", based on the Reavers from the Firefly series. (I don't really want to be a part of the empires already out there, so I figured I might as well make my own.) Anyway, the reason I am posting here is to ask if anyone would be interested in joining? I wouldn't even mind if someone else ran the emipre if someone feels they have the time. Anyway, let me know if you would lik

I think food is the only one with this problem. Everything else you want more of (better morale from games, better influence from embassies, better research, better production, etc...), but food is the only one taht I can think of that can be detrimental to have too much. I find the biggest problem w

It's called max hp for a reason. If you want higher HP, put points into starting max hp. I think she/he is saying that when you repair a ship it sometimes has more than it's max HP. (Say a ship has 10 damage, but you repair at a rate of 20 hp/turn, then that ship may have 10 additional hitpoints afte

Both races need the Alliance Technology, and you need to have "close" relations. The second usually only comes after you have a sizable military, and a lot of trade routes with the race you are trying to ally with. The two primary steps to building a "close" relation with another race is as stated above: make multiple trade routes with the race; have a larger military rating than the other race. Being the same alignment, and not having any

I like havin you around Martimus. Your posts are always knowledgable and to the point. I click the 'Insightful' rating on a great many of your posts. Thanks! Thank you very much. I actually thought that I posted too much, and that people might be getting annoyed with me. I hope I don't get too ann

3. No, this is a bug, and it has been there for every version I have seen yet. At ANY time in a game, every other option you click on the timeline shows lines for each civilization. If you click on Diplomacy, it is blank. I have seen this too.

The score is equated like this: Add all of the scores together and divide by the square-root of the total number of games played. Not a true average, but not just a total score either.

In 1.0x, I ended up mopping up most of my galaxies with just one fleet of ships. My military rating was in the tank, everyone hated me, but I didn't lose more than one or two ships, while taking out multiple opposing fleets. It seems to have been fixed in 1.1 beta 2. So when the release comes out in

I never really build tiny ships, but I regularly build small ships with 3 engines on them. Research some miniturization and you can fit nearly as much on a small ship as you do a large ship. (Which is weird, my current game has small ships with 35 attack, 5 defense, and 16 speed; my large ship has 35 attack, 18 defense, and 24 speed. My medium ship is somewhere inbetween - although it also has 16 speed so that I can easily make fleets of small and me

This is utter bs Really, why bash people just looking for help with this buggy game. Of course some of their concerns might be minor but are concerns nonetheless. Little concern over their feeling is being displayed Lighten up and try and help these people! Being nice to them is not that hard. Otherwise your

I also don't like that idea. The current setup works quite well. (Besides, there is no drag in space. The engines only need to overcome the initial inertia, but after that there is no reason they shouldn't be able to go as fast as the smaller ships.)

Also, interstingly on the game I want to bring the ship into, I have 172 load points on my huge ships, but the start of the Gods game my Huge only has 160... Anyone have an idea why? You probably had a hyperion shrinker built on one of your planets, or maybe you used a different race with a higher min

Must admit i havn't played on gigantic or huge maps i regularly play on large so i don't quite know if range bonuses along the tech branch scale up or something similar for these map sizes. But for the AI to put range modules on combat ships on large maps or smaller is definite waste of time and space and would signifcantly handi

I can tell you why I can regularly beat the AI on intellegent and above. It is really because they do not value the government techs very much (or at least don't seem to), so they don't get them until late in the game. The earlier you have the Star Republic, Star Democracy, and Star Federation, the more advantage you will have. Each of these gives you an additional 25% to all of the major categories - so the earlier you get them the more powerful you will be. That being said, my

I would love to use it. Albiet I think I am going to wait until the release of 1.1, so that it is easy to switch between modded and unmodded games. Anyway, great work! I don't really recognise the first two that you made. (I think the defiant was that ship designed to attack the borg, but I don't really remember.) But they are cool, nonetheless. <img src="http://images.stardock.com/gc2/T_DL/smiles/Congrats.gif" border=0 ALIGN="absmidd

I would love to see it just be a round robin: Each civilization gets a turn in order. As you discover new races, they would just get added to the end of the line for who would get to pick a resolution to vote on. (You would pick the resolutions from a list.) But I don't mind it much as it is now - so if they add it great, but if not I won't mind.
