I remember Brad saying that you could upgrade all of a certain type of vehicle at once, but I can't seem to find that post. How do you automatically update all of a certain type of vehicle? Also, can you upgrade vehicles when they are in the same parsec? I can never get the upgrade option to show up unless I move the ships to different parsecs. (I think parsec was the right term.)

Thanks. It looks like I can go about my old tactics of non-violent conquering. (Through culture) I build up a Military solely to protect my planets and starbases usually.

After reading through some of the journals, it seems like you can't station ships at star bases to defend them like you could in GC1. Is it possible to station a few defenders at star bases to defend them like you can with planets? I know that is how I used to defend them in GC1.

In the planet description screen for Earth, their is a "/n" still in the description on the left hand side. I noticed this while looking through the most recent game journal, shown here: https://www.galciv2.com/screenshots/gameplay/humans59.jpg

I like the idea as well. If you have a vapor trail follow the previous week worth of movement for each ship it would also tell you how fast that ship is at a glance. (Longer vapor trail = faster ship) Also, I agree with sam0t that it would give a nice feeling of motion to a static ship. But my favorite bit is that you could tell at a glance whether a ship is sitting around in some sort of defensive capacity, or moving on to attack. It would just make processing the battlefield quicker and e

When I played through the games (GC1), I rarely fought a single battle. I almost always won by building up my culture, and destabalizing the enemy. I only built up an army at all to protect myself incase I was attacked. The strategy worked almost every time, although I needed to get a couple of infuence resources first. (If someone else started mining them before me, I would pay them whatever they wanted for it, because in the long run it would help me.)

Cykophrog, I had the same pop-up. It said that the game could not be activated. I took a screen shot, but I don't have it on this computer so I can't write exactly what it said: I will update with that later. However, it didn't seem to cause any actual problems, but I won't really know until I download the remaining files on Tuesday.

I completely agree! I would have never done a pre-order before - it just didn't make sense to me - but I wanted to reward the developers for their hard work so I paid early for this game. I am genuinely excited about his game. I hate to say great job before I have even played the game but it almost feels like it can't possibly be a bad game... There must be something wrong with me... Keep up the good work!

Its 72 degrees in Plymouth...? Considering that I live just a few miles down the road; I am pretty sure that he means in the airconditioned/heated facility where they work. I can assure you that it is much colder than that outside. (Although it has been a pleasantly warm winter this year

This may be a stupid question, but since you guys made the GAL CIV 2 engine so mod-able, are you planning on selling it to third parties? There may be some people interested in making 4X type games with the engine you have already created.

Point is each race has its own industry and therefore its own military products. The idea that 2 races have the same share base hulls is implying they share the same military suppier. Actually, most of the worlds major civilizations share the same military suppliers. I should know; I actually work for an agency that buys the weapons. <br

In GC1 it seemed like my moral would go down the more I was perceived as evil. The more it seemed that I was perceived as good, the higher my moral was. (This made everything easier.) But that may not have been true, but it seemed that way to me. (If it isn't true, it probably should be to give people an incentive to be good.)

I called that number, and it worked well. Thanks, I have everything under control now. luzerlinux was right, they had done 3 Pre-Authorizations, but they did not go through so I needed to order again. It is nice that they are so close. (I live within 20 miles of the office I called.) If only because the economy in Michigan is so bad, so it is good keeping the money in state.

I tried to purchase Gal Civ 2 over the weekend, but I ended up getting an error. I got charged for the game three times, but I can't find a phone number anywhere to call and get this fixed. I tried e-mailing but I recieved no response, and I hate communicating through e-mail. (I would far rather talk to someone over the phone.) Could someone get me a number I can call to get help from Stardock Sales?
