There are plenty of tactics, thou not many players use them. In case of using illuminators, your tactics involve positioning your ships for maximum damage as well as retreating your ships before they die if they took some damage. Smart players will build a repair bay in adjacent gravity well and retreat ships there. It is better to retreat than lose. And a player retreating ships will always win. Other tactics involve timing your capital ship abilities, as well as micromanaging your support

Yes it is usually in 1 session! Games that last more than 2 hours are rare. Unless you can speak with people and arrange it before hand attempting such a game will end with few people quitting before its over.
How about some stronger defensive platforms???e.g. A defence platform - weapons include combined gun/missile and hanger plus maybe others - repair, shield recharge etc...Obviously it will cost some, but would make a huge difference at a chokepoint. Should be able to handle a single cap or a number of small frigates by itself so you need 2-3 caps or 30+ frigates to take it down.
Classic single player mentality. Chockeholding is lame, and this game was designed so that it
TEC and Advent do not need new techs, they only need buffs to current ones! For example, for Insurgency to become great and worthwhile, I would suggest that instead of attacking a random planet it attacks ALL of your enemies planets at once. Change up Advent allegiance tech by buffing it immensely, maybe have ti give +50% max allegiance! Or even more!
ONLY if they take away the increased cost. Otherwise I would say keep it off autocast. Although you could argue that you can jsut not research the upgrade in the first place :/ But overall I find the upgrade worthless, if there was no increased cost, it would be a worthwhile upgrade.
I can't get through it. What is he talking about? Who is ignoring what? THey are working on new net code for 1.1 to get around people not forwarding their ports properly! I'm hopign this will fix some things related to desyncs and lag as well.
I called them whiners on this too, it's nothign new. But their problem was with pulsating it, which I kidna agree, and with the fact it pushes caps away, which I would say is fine by me.
Yes ZJBDragon, it is very hard to balance something for the small and big environment. They must walk a thin line. A lot of people playing the short game complain a lot of the techs are useless, which they aren't since on a big map they make sense. Thou I wouldn't mind reworking them to be more beneficial on smaller maps. You can make things work better for both short and long games :) As far as drastic changes, I agree they go too far too often. It should be a small down tick and
You guys fail to realize REPULSION is the COUNTER to RA. That's why it blows away so many ships, because it has to. It's the only thing you can use vs RA as advent and not fail. It is very vulnerable to Damper Field, which none of you whiners probably ever used. The main imbalance with Repulsion as is is the way it applies the repel debuff. It repels ships traveling towards the guardian faster than stationary targets. That is why pulsating it works, as opposed to having t
You realize this would make people who super micro battles, such as myself, invincible? I had a nice solution for LRFs, but it is very long. If enough people want to hear it I may be persuaded to explain. As is, I have no energy.
GREAT that Marza ability is finally fixed! What's next? Fix all the colonizing abilities perhaps? Sky is the limit! I apologize, I'm cynical by nature.
Yes I too thought about not using autoattack. But rather than not using auto attack I prefer to micro them when possible. The extra dps may not be much, but it's still dps! I would rather they not have guns like carriers, that way I wouldn't feel like I'm wasting something! Also I usually group my ships into fleets by type. This makes it a lot easier to manage. And never fleet your ships with a capital ship! They do really stupid things like sitting around while your Cap is bombing a plan
I really dont care if it is balanced. Its distasteful to fundamental principle of RTS games
And the fundamental principle of RTS is? One way to win? No diversity? No variety? Make the game about spamming tradeports and see who is better spammer? Genius of RA is that it's an alternate form of economy, one not dependent on many planets or many tradeports. I want more alternatives to the standard model, not less. Yesterday some noob whined to me for 20 minutes a
I thought RA was overpowered...
Everyone in this thread fails but MegaVolt. His solution would not bee too far off the wall. But you all fail to grasp the real problem as is. The original design of the game assumed that you will need to use support vessels in order to win. Limiting RA to non support ships would make it balanced in such an environment. The real problem is 1 of 2 things. 1) Either the support vessels are not powerful enough to be needed for victory. If victory can be achieved without the
Vengeance is pretty bad as is, I don't see why they would touch it!
It is terribly AWFUL. Pre-patch, it was without a doubt one of the best abilities. Almost defining really. Only thing that could work better if properly applied was cleansing brilliance. I would never use it in a serious game now. This is how we balance stuff here. Nerf everything good, so it is as worthless as all the bad things. Then we can fight each other with cobalts. Never mind stuff like Marza lvl 6 ability NEVER worked properly, and it is very good if it worked. But kee
who uses chokepoints? The game is hardly designed for that. I either fill all my planets with defenses or none at all hehehehe.
o/ I wish I could quit you!
Great clan. I seen you guys use some very advanced tactics, even thou they didn't get you a victory :) But very nice job!
Well if he is provoking me, there will be sarcasm. I'm not known for simpleton way of speaking, where you can just read it without trying to interpret the thought behind it.
All culture facilities generate the same amount of culture. This culture is divided among all the phase lanes connected to the planet. A single planet with many phase lanes will pump out far less culture along each line. The culture number that you see is after the culture is divided.
Thnx, this actually makes more sense hehehe. Since your homeworld usually only has 2 lanes to it :O
nope next time archive :(
Yes u can do that. Thou 50 stars would be slow, most I ever used was 21, with 10 objects per star.
Flak is better because it has another purpose and it survives vs other type of frigate, where scout doe snot. Also I only use scouts with Advent. Other 2 are not practical :/
