What is the OS you are using? Seems rather odd.
Astax
Flak is actually still effective against LRF, especially if you micro.
We must have a different definition of effective. Try to use flak vs LRFs, and you will lose mroe credits in structures then the opponent will in LRFs. And you are not the only one that can micro, he can micro too. Unless he happens to be TEC, he can easily retreat his LRFs before they are destroyed.
The group jump is meant to leave few straglers behind to prevent prohibatively long wait times for the last few ships. If you want to make sure none are left behind, move em all to the area before jumping.
I hope it's a transdimentianal aquatic race a la the Trilarians of Moo2 :O That way they can add oceanic planets to the game.
usually you dont defend your homeworld unless you are losing. Even then the best you can hope for is a stalemate should the enemy come. You need 100% of your fleet there few repairs and as many hangers with fighters as possible if you plan on surviving. The extra 10 tactical slots your homeworld coems with is really handy for this!
It's pretty hard to interrupt as there seems to be a delay between the ability being used and effect taking place. I killed a Marza while it was performing missile barrage when my assailants were at about 35% hp. They all still died.
not a lot.
Ok there are some things about the game that have drove me nuts for a while. Stuff which you have no control over but it can totally ruin the game. I just thought I share and see if others feel the same, or if they have somethign to add. Yes these issues are all map related. Yes I could play set map, but that doesnt cover issue #1, unless every planet is an asteroid, and issue #3 in some patches. 1)20+ ship planets, seriously? Starting behind one of these gems, usual
Best strategy for a noob would be to get a good teamate :) That should show you how to play.
Maybe he lost 50 games also?
thats the way it was, unless its been changed
Nah that build order is wrong. Selling Metal does nothing, you sohudl buy 100 crystal instead. You do not need to queue all 3 extractors right away because u only have 2 cosntruction drones, so they cant build all of em right away. I usually do this: Build crystal extractor, build cap factory buy 100 crystal get planet upgrade queue up 3 scouts then you caa wait for the credits for your other extractors, u usually get them before you are
The Hanger Bays replace aircraft much better than a carrier. In a fighter vs fighter this shows a lot. And 1 hanger can have the range fo full gravity well, vs limited range of a turret, whcih can be outranged by long range frigates.
medium map
It's in the research menu.
or you could be smart about it and build 5 tradeports :) Anyway as I said if your ally has a refienry inrange, he will use your extractors also.
Well the thing is you must understand how Armor works. TEC get lots more armor, which increses the effect of the repair. Also there are repair techs which also increase the HP. Ok armro works liek this if memory serves me right, each point of armor increases your hp by 5%. So that 100 HP of Hull armor can take 105 damage actually. So when you are repairing 20 hull/second, you are actually repairing 21 hull worth of damage. And Vasari get a repair abiltiy that is not limited
I think you are building your planetary defenses too early. You need ot have a good fleet first and foremost. Also take note of what ships the AI is building. All ships are not created equal. 30 cobalts are not as menecing as 15 Assailants.
I got Marzatrolled in a game where a guy jumped in so that all my ships were immidiately in range fo the barrage. I lost all my Assailants but not sentines, they got out of the way. But imagine i researched that garbage charged missiles and they couldn't get away lol.
I assume you are tlaking bout Entrenchment? What's the Kostura upgrade? And yes AFAIK the Advent super weapon is pretty crap. 6% mitigation anywhere on the map does not do you too much. Kostura is pretty good as is, too bad you can't target your own planets with it cause it would help :O Nova was always sweet! Kostura I only used few time sin MP. But every time it was super effective.
Static defense gives defender an advantage. It is worth it, but not for every planet. In a fleet vs fleet situation, a repair platform and a hanger can be super effective.
Update on the issue. I was able to view a replay without incident. When I entered the replay, I was the selected player, I did not change the player. Also I refraimed from using view all option. This allowed me to see the whole replay without it having any issues.
There is a race like this in Sword of the Stars (Sots). It's called Zuul, and their ships have identifiable parts from other races, especially the tanker. They are a race of scavengers who use telepathinc extraction techniques to learn from their victims of their technology and apply it as their own.
Youa re confused as to why static defense exists. It by no means is supposed to sotp any sizable fleet.
I do believe that once there are free slots the ships you were charged for will appear.
