Reply to Siege VS Heavy in Strategy

You guys are new, siege frigates used to be not that expensive. But they were never meant to fight other frigates, but rather plaents. The fact they have guns on the ship is purely ancedontal. As is the fact that all guns must have a damage type, and it so happens the damage type assigned to the siege frigates seems to be the one with a multiple vs heavy cruiser. These things have nothing at all to do with the intended use of the siege frigates. Siege frigates had th

Are you saying you are using 1 game for 2 people? You are mistaken then, I think it's you that can be sued. All I will tell you is that my serial has 25 characters.

I built my computer from fairly good parts in November 2004. It runs the game just fine. Only thing I changed since then is a new GFx card (GeFroce 7800, which is by no means top of the line) and I had to pull out some ram.

Using siege at all is LOL. Using them in combat is ROFLMAO. A siege frigates costs more than a heavy cruiser (something like 50% more) and uses more supply. How you could consider it a coutner when you apply 3 to 1 ratio is beyond me.

Yes i tested it too, it works BUT it's not great. Reason for it is that people use fighters, if they used bobmers that be great. When fighters target your cap they will deal little damage per squadron, so they will take little damag ein return. It works better when the fighters target a light armored target like Illumiantor. BUT once again it sucks because despite the damage the fighters take back is increased by 200%, the illumiantor will die after one volley and you are out 75 a

Yeah usually all your ships if they are in a fleet will target the same target. You can also do it manually to make sure if you have the time. But you should know what ships do most damage to what units.

The current installment of the game takes place in TEC space. Maybe in future expensions they will be moved to other places. But Advent I think have all come back from the otehr system to where they were banished, and all that's left of Vasari is a Nomadic fleet also.

Huge maps? They are BORING. I suggest my map :) It seems huge, but it is actually pretty easy once you get the hang of the strategy. Basically you take one star system after anotehr going clockwise or coutnerclockwise. There are no warps and all enemies will jump through the star, so you know where they will come from. And you try to get as good relations as you can with all the other races. This is not hard if you research the te

I am playing 10 player diplomatic FFA on my map . I assure you the AI is all too happy to go to war with each other. as a matter of fact I have NAP or better with all AIs except the one I'm exterminating. And the AI's are all too eager to help me with that also.

Colonizer caps are useful for footholds more so than early expansion. Especially when you try to jack someone's roid by their HW.

Dude, hangers are way better than turrets. They are fine as is, don't complain. 1 or 2 flak will do nothing to a hanger, and you dont build just 1 hanger, I can build 5 advent hangers on an Asteroid complete with 2 repair and a nice 1 turret to take up last slot.

Well that would be interesting. I planned ont esting it but never got around to it. I just assumed as most abilities do not affect strike craft in the slightest, same was true for Vengence. I will test this if Cykur gets around to testing it with me :(

Well 90 Assailants should end the life of the Mothership in a rather brief interval. But I don't think it's ok they nerfed something people used to a point no one uses it anymore. That's why no nerf is a good nerf. When you make something useless you just shitting on your own game. Scale it down, sure, but make it useless, why? There were million other things they could do to Malice that would leave it viable. And I would be scratchign my head trying to d

Lot of stuff no longer works, it's not just Advent! Sova anyone? when was the last time you Sova rushed anyone? 1.04?Well maybe Dunnov will make a comeback as I am itching to try Magnatize on these carrier spammers :) After a nice magnitize you could probably achieve air supperiority with 5 squadrons over 20 or so enemy squadrons. Every Vasari cap is nerfed by the fact that whale (no I'm not gonna call it egg) is the best choice! It really sucks, can we get some vari

Advent is the most fun in late game. I used to not mind Vasari late game, but many thing shave changed. Like there is only one cap for Vasari now, Subverters were nerfed, and RA was nerfed...

3 lvl 6 Marza's are harder to achieve than the only Cleansing Brilliance + Malice, which was great BTW, I dunno why they nerf Malice to such shittiness that I don't even bother to learn what it does now. I have used 3 lvl 6 Marza's in SP today, very nice :) And works in SP cause AI is retarded. If you are player and you see 3 lvl 6 Marza's, and you don't know what's coming, then it's your own fault.

Ok when you zoom out it be great if the cursor did not get stuck on the little trade ships and refinery ships flying aobut. If theyc an jsut be ignroed that would be awesome. There is really no good reason for you to be able to click on thsoe while zoomed out, and it only gets in the way of trying to issue proper orders. I think I clicked a trade ship as a destination for my fleet more times than the actual planets I was tryign to target. The little buggers just jump out u

Cause it's hard :O I think that would be one reason. Well hard is a relative term in programming. Anything is Hard until you do it once.
