I found a fix. It's a pain because you can't modify your dock once the fix is in place, but at least I get my docks where they should be. Basically, edit the file containing your dock settings. You need to comment out the line that specifies which display to use. Save the file and then make it READ ONLY. Since there is no setting, the dock automatically comes up on the first display every time, regardless of whether I've moved my laptop to another docking station o
I'm guessing that upon moving the laptop to another "dock", ObjectDock probably sees the laptop screen as primary. I assume that by "moving the laptop to another dock" you mean a docking station?
I guess it's possible, but I never have the laptop open to activate the laptop screen, and it's disabled in the Windows desktop settings. Yes, by "dock" I mean a docking station.
I'm running Windows 7 Pro 64bit, with the latest version of ObjectDock (2.20.0.862). For some reason the Dock refuses to stay on the Primary monitor. I have a laptop, mounted in a dock, connected to two monitors via Displayport ports. I can set the ObjectDock to be on the Primary Monitor, and it will stay there between boots without an issue. If I move the laptop to another dock the ObjectDock will end up on the secondary monitor and I have to go set it back to the Primary
As you can see above, the files are in Program Files, not (x86).
It depends whether you install the 32bit or 64bit version. Unfortunately, we need to run the 32bit version even though our OS is 64bit. The 64bit version of Office 2013 won't run along side of the 32bit version of Office 2007. Most of the users posting here are most likely running 32bit software on their 64bit OS.
I'm not familiar with the stacks plugin, but my folders are already working fine with Office 2007. I have a folder on my dock named "Productivity". In there are just shortcuts to the productivity apps I use - Office programs, Notepad, etc. Now that I have Office 365 installed I find that I can't start any of the new Office programs from shortcuts placed in that folder.
Thanks, but that does not work for folders unfortunately.
Running Windows 7 Pro 64bit. We recently installed 32bit Office 365. We can't get any of the Office 365 programs to launch from ObjectDock. We have even tried creating a junction to the "Program Files" directory to avoid the "Program Files (x86)" issue that ObjectDock has suffered from forever. How can we put our new Office apps onto our ObjectDock?
I have never been able to launch a 64bit application from a folder shortcut in ObjectDock. Is this possible? Explanation: I use the 64 bit version of FireFox (named Nightly). It is installed at "C:\Program Files\Nightly\firefox.exe". I have a shortcut to the executable in a folder named "Internet". The shortcut target is "%ProgramW6432%\Nightly\firefox.exe -p Nightly -no-remote". This shortcut works fine when double-clicked. I have a shortcu
I can't find any way to start the command prompt with a 64 bit command prompt. I also wonder if other apps started from my docks are running in 32bit more instead of 64bit.
This still has not been solved. I'm currently running Windows 7 Pro 64 bit. There isn't anywhere in Objectdock to show the version number, but it's the most recent version available for download. Currently on my dock I have shortcuts to two windows games - Solitaire an
I have an issue that I'm pretty sure is being caused by ObjectDock. I'm running Windows 7 Pro 64bit. The ObjectDock configuration page doesn't show any version information, but I know that it's the free version of 2.0. My desktop looks like this when good and bad... Thanks! Registering online fixed my issue.
No more bug fixes, etc. until Windows 7 RC is available - and the bug fixes will be Win7 specific.Dead wrong. Zubaz shakes his head
True... I was generalizing, but where are the ObjectDock fixes for 64bit Vista? The folks that should be working on this are working on Windows 7 testing, and Impulse and Fences, etc. You can't tell me that Stardock puts any kind of effort into bug fixes.
No comments at all? I'm the only one with this issue?
My point is that it seems all their programs are changing over to all Vista . I am wondering if I will get my monies worth since I use XP . I will not be changing OS's until Windows 7 at least . And again , any special offers to subscribers via email as time goes by ?
If it makes you feel any better, us Vista users are also being left out in the cold now that Windows 7 is in Beta. No more bug fixes, etc. until Windows 7 RC is available - and the bug fixes wil
I have Fences installed, and it runs at startup. I don't have any fences defined, but I like the hide/show functionality when I doubleclick the desktop. Unfortunately, at every boot, my desktop icons end up in a row at the top of the screen instead of where they were when I shut down. Any idea why this is happening? Vista SP1 64bit
Simple question... I'm looking at the Themes section of the properties of one of my docks. If I use the "Save current dock" button, does that make a complete backup of the dock? Does it include the icons, settings, etc? Is this all I need to do to backup a dock so I can reinstall it later, on another PC or after a uninstall/reinstall on this machine? If this works, where does the backup get saved? Thanks!
Mickeko... I know you don't work for Stardock, but are you saying that anyone with 1.x of ObjectDock will have to pay to have the bugs fixed (If they are indeed fixed in 2.0)? I *DID* have a working version of ObjectDock 1.9x running on Vista 64bit. Everything worked - system tray, start menu, weather docklet, etc. It worked like that for weeks. Then BLAM, Stardock goes and breaks something and trashes my installation. What's worse is that they won't let me download the workin
There won't be any OD 2.0 update anytime soon. If you want to pay starting at OD 2.0, get a refund now and use the free version until 2.0 is out.
That's what happened, right? You contacted them and they proposed to give you a refund?
Nope... they said they'd have it fixed up right away! Four months later and I can't even get the version of the software that I had when I made my purchase. Support had me "try reinstalling" which downgraded my version. I can't even get back to where I was when I paid for my subscription!
man simple simon...your not to enthusiastic object dock is an awesome program and im sure those of you that recently purchased will be upgraded for free...dont be such a pessimist
I purchased back in September(?)... The bugs have been around for years! If I wasn't using Vista 64bit, I could probably just accept the current state of OD. What really burns my butt, is that they DID have a version online that worked fine. N
So, you are saying that anyone who has XP or Vista and is experiencing bugs with Stardock programs should not expect to see any bug fixes?
No comments at all?
Would it be unreasonable to request a refund after using the program for six or more months? I would think so, yes.
