Ok, problem solved. Strangely, the option for autohide" was not enabled. (rightclick on pop-out menu, settings - view - autohide) Strangely though, without this options enabled, the menu DOES autohide, but re-appears just by getting close. Anyways, I'm happy now :) I hope this helps the OP too :)

I agree with the above. It's very annoying when menus pop out when you get CLOSE to the edge of the screen. If would be much better if you could set it so they don't appear unless you actually TOUCH the edge. Please add this feature, it's driving me nuts.
