Derek, I played a great deal of LH up until the last few patches when real life got in the way of fun unfortunately. I have made a lot of coments and provided feedback online here - I hope that at least some of my ramblings have been of some small use to you and your team. I will never like steam [e digicons]:([/e] Please accept my sincerest thanks for the efforts of yourself and your team - this is essentially a free new game for

With a company like stardock it IS less of a concern if a game is released in a kind of advanced beta state rather than fully polished retail product due to Stardock's ongoing commitment to improve and refine and patch their games BUT I would hate to see the game not do as well as it should due to ill informed reviewers marking it down due to lack of polish and/or bugs upon release.
I have put about 180 hours into this since I downloaded the Beta. I have played 7 full games. I started on the easiest difficulty level and have very slowly worked up the difficulty tree. I am currently playing my first "normal" difficulty game. Please read my comments with this in mind as the game mechanics may be dumbed down considerably by the lower difficulty levels I am playing at. I like to play random generated games with most things set to random, very long research times to give the
Also... Release only a month away? I'm not sure the beta I'm playing, v0.80, is will be good enough for general release in just 4 weeks time.
Please tell me that there will be a standalone version and that I can play without that festering STEAMing pile of rubbish. :)
List should be in the Hiergamenon or options in my opinion.
This might seem ungrateful but I think the current experiment getting rid of encumbrance is a wrong turn in the game's development. 1) Encumbrance is a very familiar concept from other similar games 2) Initiative is not so intuitive to get your head around. 3) Removing encumbrance seems like a step in the direction of dumbing down. I associate Stardock with complex grown up games, 4) Encumbrance is logical, the more weight you carry the less agile you are.
1) Grip of winter doesn't seem to be working. The animation graphic over the city looks OK, the enchantment screen says it is there but I'm not sure the spell is actually doing anything. 2) Frozen bones applied to city multiple times - is this working as intended and do the subsequent spell applications actually do anything? 3) On my rig with 32 bit xp I am running with afterburner reporting to my

Thank you for your help.
Prior to LH I usually played the game with a large stack of powerful heroes. It was a little clumsy, but not too hard, to move items around between heroes in the big stack to optimize use of those items and manage the weight/burden penalty issue. With LH I find a single stack of heroes too weak, and am playing with several stacks of trained units each with one/several heroes leading them. Each stack collects items during questing etc but there is cu
Yes ElanaAhova... Once I realised that the TAB button on the keyboard moved me around the map to units and cities with unfinished business, and once I realised that things were happening in the background with no indication that the game was "working/thinking/updating", and once I turned autoturn off, and once I only started saving when the turn button was green, and once I only started hitting the TURN button on the screen when it was green my whole gameplay experience became much mo
I hope so. I detest Steam. Nothing useful in exchange for endless compatibility and stability problems.
The heroes now lead troops into battle like the Jedi led clone storm troopers into battle in pre empire days.
... But couldn't see how to do it. Can it be done in LH and if so how please. My current workaround is to build a pioneer, build a tower where I want a road then raze the tower. This is a bit silly. Thanks.
I was playing in options with the slider setting that controls how far out the "normal" map zooms before the cloth map cuts in. On my installation the default setting was "86" out of I guess 100. The higher the number the sooner the cloth map cuts in. I wanted to zoom out further for a birds eye view of the world before the cloth map appeared so experimentally set it to "10". I returned to the game and Zoomed WAYYYYY out - but the map became cluttered due to the city names panels not scaling.
I've only seen this after this weeks patch (0.75 I think) After playing for a long time, without warning, the dialog boxes just display as text on pure black. The game is still running and responsive, but very sluggish and jumpy. I can make a save game and exit the normally but it takes a while. I have seen this quite often since the patch (Which incidentally has stabilised the game considerably for me on 32bit XP). After this problem
The way units are buffed from the spellbook needs to be improved. It is clumsy, tedious and not fun..... >S T A R T Hit button to go to spellbook Select world/city/unit tab which contains spell needed scroll to page with spell on it select spell hit and spell book closes Select stack of nine units to be buffed with spell, say "Evade" for the sake of argument Dialog opens showing 9 units which ca
Title says it all really. I have units all over the place and many (elementals for instance) do not show up in the GOVERN screen because there are no heroes or wage earning units with them. I am losing track of all the units and armies. Since heroes seem relatively weak and city built units seem so (over?) strong the obvious way to play now is one hero in an army to ensure drops get collected and the army can be found in the GOVERN screen. In previous iterations of the game I just had
Using a creative sound card. . . . . I have been upgrading drivers and removing syem tray apps to try to get the game to be more stable under XP. Steam might have issues with Skype and Afterburner so I don't play with these loaded amymore. Upgraded catalyst drivers to latest (non beta) 13.1 for XP for my MSI 7850 card. Upgraded G19 keyboard driver. Upgraded Edimax driver and RAlink utility to the version in the so-called Windows 8 Beta file. Disable
Using it just now it I realized a keyword search function would be useful.
Hi all, I have been playing LH quite heavily for nearly a week now. One bug I am consistently seeing more times per day than I would like is a crash to desktop upon entering combat. Cheers.
Tattyhat, DevildogFF... I see no reason to keep the original Elemental and the subsequent Fallen Enchantress on my hard disk any longer. LH just feels right and gives me a cosy feeling when I play it which the other two somehow didn't quite manage. (beta bugs and unfinished development aside).
Another little update and suggestions.... 1) Manual. I realise that the manual is one of the last things that gets done for a new game so that it accurately reflects the game, but please don't ignore this vital little game accessory. Since everything is electronic nowadays and the pleasure of buying a game and getting a box full of manuals, info sheets and maps is a thing of the past, it is now no longer possible to play the game and have a book of instructions in y
Another little update.. 1) Got 20 hours relatively trouble free play yesterday UNTIL i started doing quests and the epic quest. There seems to be a major problem with the quest subsytem. 2) When I exit the game I often get this... <img id="fullsizeMedia" style="width: 884px; height: 552px;" src="http://i234.photobucket.com/albums/ee125/EphBee/ElementalLHExitbug.jpg" alt=" photo ElementalLHExitbug.jpg" width="884" height="884" data-link="src{:fullsi
