This is a function of stream. Steam will put things on sale periodically as part of the business agreement. There have been a few times where I bought something and it went on sale (or a bigger sale) the next day. Steam says all sales final. Deems the breaks. I am sure there will be a large sale for Easter/spring break. Usually at least on in summer and one in winter. I would think Stardock was serious when they said last cha
Brillig
I'm with the OP on this. I'd note that at the same time this is on sale on Steam, Stardock is still selling it on its own site for $49.99. I generally don't mind paying a little more to small developers, but enough is enough. From now on, I'm buying from Steam, on sale. I have more than enough games that I don't care about having things on release day.
But it involves promotion space. I have read reports from indie developers, that their sales drop up to 95% when they aren't on the Steam store mainpage anymore. I guess the same is true for Impulse. If Gamestop decides to promote only AAA titles on the frontpage (or even sells the space to the highest bidder), indie developers will certainly get hurt.
That's an excellent point - the indie games

It appears to me Brad is extremely loyal to his peeps and they are to him. I highly doubt Brad would have sold Impulse to a bunch of scavenging vultures - those people are his friends and have families. Just don't see it.
Define "screw over"? Looks like they'
What if they'd sold it to Microsoft to merge into GFWL? Or Valve, to poach the users for Steam? It can always be worse.
Clearly "worse" is a subjective judgement. I'd pay $50 right now to have all my licenses transferred to Steam.
At the rate they're locking threads today, I kind of wonder if anything with a pony in it will be locked next.
Mmm, mostly they've been trying to keep the discussion centralized in one or two threads. We did, however, learn that Brad doesn't know what "melodrama" means.
While I understand the reasoning and I'm hoping for the best, I think it's far more likely Gamestop will screw up Impulse rather than improve it. I haven't found that Gamestop has the same ethics or concern for their customers that Stardock has.
Considering that your account was sold to Gamestop, I think the "ethics or concern for their customers that Stardock has" was largely an illusion.
First Demigod. Then Elemental. Now this. What happened to Stardock? Seriously? I honestly wish all my Impulse games were on Steam now.
You and me both and a bunch of other people.

Generally speaking, GameStop has always seemed pretty progressive in their sales policies such as with their handling of game trade-ins and such.
Thanks, I

Unless Impulse bought Gamestop, I believe that what happens to Impulse now is out of your hands. If there a
I only like two things in this game. 1. The skill&ability tree is much more nicer and better then DAO (especially having lots of tactics slots without needing to put points into a skill which was always so nonsensical to me in DAO to need to spend character points to improve a game/UI mechanic). I like how now you got all numbers explained and abilities make more sense as well as different classes having unique talent trees.&nbs
I'm making a huge deal out of it??? I'm explaining the principle behind it. You're trying to deflect that into a 'no harm, no foul' argument. Take, as an example, students who cheat on class work and tests in high school. You can argue that they aren't causing any harm, but the principles behind what they are doing is most definitely morally objectionable. The same goes for plagiarism and the like. The Bioware
No worse than the mouthbreathers who started an underground campaign to lowball the game, most of them before they even played or pirated it. In fact it's probably much better considering that you'd expect BioWare employees to have actually played the game. And they honestly could have high opinions of it. Remember what Frogboy thought of Elemental before launch?

You know, I see a title like this and I'm led to wonder... What kind of answers do land-tiles give in interviews?
I personally don't care for Apple products and don't subscribe to the cult of Jobs. But what I find really disturbing is this stalkerish obsession with him. He's having health issues. Why can't everyone just leave him alone? Why are people trying to make his condition news? I saw an article about some newsidiots who photographed him leaving the hospital... JUST LEAVE THE MAN ALONE! Sheesh.
I thought the massive malware outbreak happened when Facebook launched.
Both "ass hat" or "asshat" can be correct, the differentiation is in how tightly it's wedged. You're welcome for the visual :)
