I play on normal and I noticed right away that the AI would not pay for them after I spent all that time and money...bummer, I didn't consider it cheezy to go for the trade goods and get lots of cash. It was a good way to offset the advantage that the AI tends to have in both planet quality, Yellow stars and tech. >:(

Is there any way to tell if a system will not become unhappy if I unload a transport on it? It would be cool if you could automaticly send it back to its home world and disband it or keep it in orbit there without having to empty an disband it --this is very painful-- [Message Edited]

Played a game where I invaded two minors and a major, then had 50 or so extra transports. It was killing my economy after the wars. What happins to the population if they are disbanded? Unloading on a planet relaunching and disbanding is painful. What happins to the troops when you sell the transports? I got so fed up trying to deal with all those stupid ships, I ended up giving them to an AI. There's got to be a better way of dealin' with transports, what am I

I hade the same problem as you going to normal. This helped me. The most important thing to remember is: 1.) Economic. All the AIs like money so get all the systems you can then focus on ecconomic bonus including banks, trade goods trade and wonders, buy then outright ( on a long lease) they make up for the cost. 2.) Sell the civs trade goods for tech and cash, keep them broke. Trade with the strongest keep them on your side of any war. 3.) Avoid war unless

While I dont use the bocking tactic, (there are cooler ways to get a resource in the game). It might be kind of neat if a ship could blocade a selected planet to cut off trade and stuff and the AI could decide to ignore it or not and the person doing it would pay cash (like you do when you invade with special tactics)

Having predictible ways to win does not bother me, There are predicatable ways to win any game. In Moo2 I could ALWAYS tell when I was going to loose way in advance if "those techie aliens" got a good head start and there were key technologies that you had to get before you even had a chance. What is real cool about GalCiv is you can't always predict if you are going to loose! I have won my share of games by being predictable and by expecting certain behaviors from the AI; BUT

Its not possible (for 1 developer) to account for all the cheeze all of the people who play the game can come up with. Kind of surprized reading this thread that some have suggested that it should have been expected and accounted for in the Metaverse or the game. If a programmer knew what form it would take, it would be accounted for...

Have a game, that if I pick terror star shell off the list of availabe modules, it vanishes - If the game gives me a ranger, I cannot see it but can select it. Same with the Terror star. I can select and move it and destroy planets with it...is this a known bug?

There could be lots of reasons, But on is that the name for the Metaverse Registration, and the Name on the Allias at the end of the game have to match exactly. Also make sure that Stardock considers the nickname you use a valid one. You need to use Wincustomize for that if you have not already. Hope this helps...
