I am all envy. Congatulations. You get to view life through yet another set of eyes. I am all envy.

Would it be possible to post al the current ships here so we could modify them? Or perhaps a way for us to extract the images from the MDL files. I for one would do a fast MOD that simply colorizes them in relation to their race, if possible. Some of us have poor vision and this would be helpful. I might also make some of the ships a bit larger. This all being seperate from my Secret MOD. ~SDC~
As time allows Cari. Thanks. ~SDC~
Actually I liked the developers name in there. But of course flexability in naming is always good. ~SDC~
Dinomite! What beautful ship work he has on that site. I hope he has time to their ported over. ~SDC~
So far all I have had time to try is the ship rotator. But it work quite well. Although I will want the ability to use at least 16 bit color images, so will look forward to an automator able to do that. As high as will work in the game. As I have a whole theme of MODed ships in mind and quality color will be essential to pulling them off. If I have to go the tedious route I will but it would take me a LOT longer to get a MOD done. As to the thematic material; that is classified "Top Secret." <B
Actually I have givin some serious thought to doing an animation of my mother inlaw as a BIK video file for the game. Starting with her normal state, horns sticking out of her head, and the fire billowing out of her eyes. I would then slowly morph away the norm to a fictitional state with the sweet average old battle axe that she is at least one day a year. But still I think this is too scarry for mass distribution. And if she ever saw it, (She would, she sees and hears everything, we have to sw
There's always more room for espianage. We are everywhere. ~SDC~
Hang in there guy. And feel free to start on another MOD as all will be ironed out in time. RustyBlade, just another MODer. :) ~SDC~
Than you CarElf. Until i feel i have an exceptional grasp of the game I will be limiting my MODS to visual and sound. Which is easily done for ones self with all the media on the average gamers PC. But I will be trying to generate non-copywrite argueable mods, and that takes a bit more effort. I look forward to my own hand built images conquering the galaxy! Along with some meater sound effects. If I can find the time and mental health to carry through I will try to generate some new WAVs.
Bye the way that was against a Class 42 planet with over 40 billion pop. ~SDC~
I just reloaded a save game and tried the transport stack. Four transports with 1 billion soldiers each. Was finnaly able to achieve military victory, barely, but did. So this tactic does work. And is a nice time saver as well. ~SDC~
The Epic Generator that was in development early on for this game would of come in handy in this case. It would of felt more like an intigral game event even if i didn't find out until the end of the game. It was the lone major race planet on the map for last 1/5 of game and cultural victory was slow to kick in see as how they had over 40 billion population. Perhaps this kind of event could be toned down on maps that are rather small oe with few high quality planets. Small/Common/Loose Clusters/
I won through cultural victory but holy cow, it took forever, as I was trying to win via combat. Late game I was mopping up the last major race, the Drengin, when I found they had a class 42 planet that was fogged out, yet showed early game as about a 16. Over 40 billion population. Saw no + events that would do anything like this. Very exhausting. I was still hammering it when cultural win kicked in. Any ideas? Small - Loose Clusters - All Beginner. ~SDC~
My mistake! You can see the Mods forum with just your web browser. Black links on the right. So far the Galactic Council forum isn't there but i am sure it' ll make there too. ~SDC~
You will need to install Stardock Central to see the forum. Its growing. And only a few threads on how to. But their coming. Also Go to the Library section via the www.galciv.com homepage. There are a few mods to play with. ~SDC~
P.S. To find said threads in GC Mods forum, sort the list by "From" then look for Veteran RustyBlade. Have fun. ~SDC~
In the MODs forum found while using Stardock Central, you can find my threads on MODing=replacing most of the GalCiv music & sound effects, if you would like to. Also I have a thread suggesting some rather appropriate alternative tunes. ;) ~SDC~
DarkHelmet I downloaded you're MOD installer from the Galactic Council forum. I suspect you meant to post the link here. So I wanted to just make note and respond to you here. I read the your read.me file in the package. It looks interesting and later when I start using and or building DATA etc mods I will try it out. Just a thought, you might take a look at the Frogboy For Governor MOD and the file backup format that was used. And I suspect there will be more MODs for th
The is one FAQ noted in a sticky above. I haven't viewed it in a while but it was looking pretty good. Look to the top threads. Of course a full PRO stategy guide would be interesting. ~SDC~
This is him after the addition of numerous modules. ~SDC~
Phaedyme, Its the new one that went up just yesterday. Frogboy For Governor. Currently the first one you will see on the Library page. ~SDC~
Glad you like it. I have more MOD ideas in the works. ~SDC~
Ok I'll click Catch Up instead. ~SDC~
Haaaaaaaaa! ROTL. Darn that is funny. ~SDC~
