Problem with disappearing Fence contents in Fences Stardock Forums

Hi all, I have a couple of Fences on my desktop and several files which are outside of the Fences on the desktop. The Fences contain a mixture of mainly shortcuts but also folders and sometimes files, usually documents. A couple of days ago all of the items in the second fence suddenly disappeared. I don't mind losing shortcuts but I am concerned that I may have lost some files and folders that I need. Firstly, is there something that I have done
