Hello AzDude I followed your recommendation, but it's made no difference. With Fences uninstalled, my desktop icons appear rapidly on start up. With Fences, they don't appear until I right click on the desktop and this is with both "automatically show icons when desktop is in use" and "always show icons at start up" ticked in Fences settings. I did wonder whether my Bitdefender Security has a problem with Fences, but that doesn't appear to be the case. It's a strange one.

I have a similar problem. Having re-installed all my software onto a new desktop, including Fences 3.0.9.11, when I start up the pc the icons and the fences fail to appear on the desktop. I have to double click on the right mouse button before they appear. Desktop 'View' does not have 'show desktop icons' ticked on start up, although in Configure Fences under quickhide, 'Always show icons at start up' is ticked. There seems to be a conflict between desktop and Fences. </
