I just received a request from Start10 to upgrade, and during the upgrade it produced this message: I tried to get the installer to continue, but received a slew of other errors relating to PNG files it said were missing or something. I ended up cancelling the installation.

More information. If I install the new BETA AMD Catalyst video device driver the checkboxes return, but I'm having other video anomalies (significant drawing issues in the title bars of applications, minimize/maximize buttons not drawing consistently, strange redraw issues in the start menu). If I return to the previous (release) video device driver they go away again, so it is clearly a direct issue with version 4.14 of the device driver (specifically 14-4-win7-win8-win8.1-64

OK, for some reason it didn't like some of my screen shot pastes, so I had to try a couple of times. This was another failure, but I can't delete the reply. I edited the original message above with links to my web site. Scott

Recently my computer has had problems displaying checkboxes and some other UI components (the foreground and background, I think, are the same). The controls still work, but there is no clear checkbox and no difference between checked and unchecked. In some programs table headers are "blank". Unloading windowBlinds restores all functionality. As long as I "pin" a running app to the dock it works fine, but for any app created on the dock in any other way it loses its mind. It gets the "working directory" correct, but gets the path to the EXE incorrect. This is screwy. I had to fix up half of my links by hand after setti

I was finally able to get it to install without corrupting the desktop by deleting the Fences registry key, deleting the Fences directory, then reinstalling. It asked me the same question about not arranging my desktop and I answered it the same way, and for some reason it worked this time.

I just got Object Desktop and when I installed Fences I hit the button that said I will create my own fences and didn't want it to mess with my desktop, however instead of that it moved a whole bunch of my carefully organized icons all over the place. It even moved icons from one monitor to another. I've tried uninstalling and deleting the Fences directory under Users/AppData and reinstalling. I've tried all sorts of settings. How can I get Fences to instal
