I too would would REALLY like this feature. I tried a registry edit solution I found, but it didn't effect any change. This is what I have in Win 10 (and Win 7 before that). Hate to give this up now at 11, sigh. It's interesting, bc side dock bar is exactly what MS are doing with Office...
has this condition been resolved since 2021? I also have used left-aligned vertical start bar since Windows 7, just got my first win11 machine after using win10 with side alignment and very disappointed to learn of this deprecated behavior. If Start11 can restore it for me, I'll probably be an immediate customer.
