OK, I opened SDC and and wanted to install the WB6 update/beta. SDC needed to uninstall WB5 first. I clicked OK, and when that operation was complete I was prompted to reboot. That seemed to make sense. But once my PC had restarted and windows was loaded, I was exposed to a naked WindowsXP. Full desktop nudity. I am outraged. What if it had been one of my children viewing the bare taskbar glistening (well, a bare taskbar doesnt quite glisten...) on my LCD. Seedy start

Hey Everybody, Just wanted to share something I am very proud of. I am the senior Project Manager for a Design / Build Firm on Long Island, NY. Our work is creating luxury outdoor living spaces (pools, spas, decks, patios, kitchens, ponds, streams and waterfalls, landscapes, etc.) We started this project last year on the north shore of Long Island. Nothing but grass and overgrown shrubs overlooking Long Island Sound. <img src="http://album.wincustomize.com/image.axd?pa

Looks Sweet. I do have one question though. Will the installation of Skin Studio replace/overwrite the old version, or will it be possible to have both installed side by side on the same system? Either way, I can hardly wait.

One thing i wish for is better or more comprehensive previewing. For example the Start Panel Programs Menu Background and it's ItemBG don't even have a preview. Or disabling the UserIcon...it still appears in SS. And animations don't either. But it still beats Notepad

This a really cool thread to me because it is where I find myself lately as far as skinning. Looking back at my first skins and wanting to try them again with new skills. Tach 2 was my first refurb. I submitted my first WB April of 2003 after doing a bunch of Cursors for CursorXP and I agree with Brad... "Painful" looking back. I like to think I have improved but so has everyone else. Kinda what makes it cool. Always something new to strive for. So many different concepts and awesome s

millwall_rangers originally posted this HERE but the title simply said CursorXP so I don't think it got as much attention as it deserved. Number one because of the possibility of confusing the threat to Windows Animated Cursors with CursorXP. CursorXP is safe despite what at least one Blog initially said. The one linked in millwall's original post which has since been corrected. And secondly beca

No prob Millwall (For once i actually KNEW the answer to something around here) But as Rad and Uvah pointed out , I would think Stardock would want to nip any confusion in the bud so to speak. There is no patch currently available even though Microsoft knew about the flaw months ago <a href="http://b

a little more on the exploit.. [UPDATE: March 29, 2007 @ 1:15 PM Eastern] Microsoft has confirmed that this is indeed a zero-day flaw that will require a security update. Although Internet Explorer is the primary attack vector, this is a vulnerability in the way Windows handles animated cursor (.ani) files. From Redmond's security advisory: The threat is caused by insufficient format validation prior to rendering cursors, animated cursors, and icons. An atta

Idiot ( not you millwall) , I read the link you posted. the exploit has to do with .ani extensions not .CurXPTheme files. Cursor XP is not an issue but Patched Windows XP SP2 systems running Internet explorer 6 and 7 are regardless of wether you run CursorXp or not.

jazzymjr, ama02 - exactly the kind of feedback I am looking for. cybermessiah - Thanks for the tip, but I tried quite a few filters, many of the ones you mentioned and learned pretty quickly that it was unsatisfying. In fact I have not loaded any into PSP 10. I would rather create the effect myself. If I cannot create the effect myself or it not create it well enough, I would rather omit it from my work until I learn how to. WOM - I seriously considered Core

Shows what I know about fireworks. I never knew you could draw with it, I thought it was only for web/flash developement, if that makes sense. btw... the suite I purchased also comes with dreamweaver 8. It wasn't a factor in my decision, but maybe I should learn more about it anyone familiar with that app?
