On the Win8 menu, the desktop was there by default. Thus, if I wandered into that territory, I could get rid of the tiles and get back to the Desktop. I have been using Start8 (now Start10) for some time, but after the last Win10 update I can no longer get any folders on the desktop. I have just installed Start10. No folders are showing on my desktop now and the Win10 Tiled Startmenu intrudes regularly. This isn't working like Start8 in Win8 did!
