How do I upgrade to version 3, and will it work with the old Win 7 O/S?

Windows 7 Professional Version 6.1 (Build 7601: Service Pack 1) Fences v. 2.13 (2015)

The settings for the background color on the "Create Folder Portal" remains black-- obscuring file names (also in black type), in spite of the Fences settings (see screen shot) . Why will it not effectuate the change of the background color? Is there any on-line manual or tutorial that can tweak or work-around what appears to be a glitch? <img src="https://cdn.stardock.us/forums/52/19/5219917/e74d155a-2cc4-4dfd-a49b-ead945ba5d
