is that .bat file any different than the .bat file listed above as a "solution" that doesn't work?

has this "issue" ever been fixed, the ability to disable the update nag screen? above suggestions don't work, is there any way to stop start10 from constantly notifying me to update? even after i update? it's annoying as hell, it's almost like constant spam.

found the separartor.png but editing it (making it narrower) doesn't seem to work, it appears that it's stretched to match the width of the other icons on the dock?

when i select add a separator to my docked icons what image does objectdock plus use? is it a transparent png stored in one of the od folders?

ok, i see what was happening.... my objectdock plus installation stopped loading on startup after i did a windows in-place upgrade (repair) so i was testing out ways to fix it per suggestions i found in the forum, including renaming the objectdock link in the startup folder(s).... this sort of worked in that objectdock loaded on startup, and both of my docks displayed, but when i went into settings i could only control (change settings) for one of the docks, there was no

purchased "objectdock" and "objectdock plus" earlier this year but i had to reinstall because it was acting up (not launching at startup) - so i downloaded objectdock again, reinstalled it over my existing install, which seemed to fix the launching prob, but now i have two docks, one that can be edited (objectdock) and one that can't (objectdock plus), very weird. so how can i download plus again? i don't see it anywhere? thanks

thanks for the suggestion but i'm tired of uninstalling and reinstalling start10 in order to get rid of the splash screen, does anyone know about the bat file that fixes this that i mentioned earlier, where i can find it, or is there a registry edit that will fix this?

that doesn't work, it's unchecked on both of my machines yet i still get a an annoying splash screen telling me that a new version is available with the option to update or remind me later.... months ago i stumbled across a bat file that blocked this from happening, worked like a charm, but i've manually updated my start10 versions since then which removed the patch and i can no longer find it. windows 10 machine.

how do i disable this completely, i don't ever want to see the start10 splash screen asking if i want to install the latest update or the option to ask me later - is this possible?

well i uninstalled s8 and other stardock software and no change - the system now loads metro, flashes the desktop for about a second (without displaying any of the icons), then back to metro and, finally, a metro flashes as if refreshing after about another 3 seconds... oh well...

not sure what's going on, but when i now boot i get a blank desktop screen (no icons) for a second or two, then the metro screen pops up for about two seconds, then back to the desktop screen where the icons begin to populate, then they refresh. when i first installed s8 my system would boot immediately to my desktop with all icons ready to roll, no metro screen at all and, if i recall, the icons were ready to go, they didn't refresh after about a second or two. i use ccleaner
