Suddenly Strange Behavior

not sure what's going on, but when i now boot i get a blank desktop screen (no icons) for a second or two, then the metro screen pops up for about two seconds, then back to the desktop screen where the icons begin to populate, then they refresh. when i first installed s8 my system would boot immediately to my desktop with all icons ready to roll, no metro screen at all and, if i recall, the icons were ready to go, they didn't refresh after about a second or two.

i use ccleaner's registry cleaner but that never impacted s8's routine before - i've been testing out some antivirus software recently (avast, malwarebytes pro), which i recently uninstalled, could that have messed up s8? anyway i'm going to reinstall s8 and see what happens - has this happened to any forum members before?

well i uninstalled s8 and other stardock software and no change - the system now loads metro, flashes the desktop for about a second (without displaying any of the icons), then back to metro and, finally, a metro flashes as if refreshing after about another 3 seconds... oh well...

Best to email support@stardock.com (although if you have uninstalled Start8, it's not likely a Start8 issue.)
