Windows 10 used to have a tooltip when hovering over jump list items that would show the full path of the file. I often have a few different versions of files with the same names and that was very useful to be able to open the version I wanted. Thank you again. I'm interested in recent files not specific files so pinning the individual files would not help me. I appreciate that the extra menu options probably benefit many people and that I'm probably an edge case... If the menu opened up instead of down at least they would be out of the way.
Thank you for the suggestion. I'd rather not have 20 apps pinned to the taskbar though. I like having them tucked away in the start menu. If the jump lists in the start menu worked like Windows 10 it would be perfect.
I just updated from Windows 10 to Windows 11 (22H2 22621.963) and started using Start11 (v1.36) to get back the Windows 10 style start menu. I pretty much do everything from jump lists in the right click menu of the start menu tiles. I've run into an annoyance with Start11 because it has extra menu items in the right click menu that I have to go past every time to get to the jump list items. Most of these extra items seems like they would be rarely used only when initially setting up
