Well the Sountox Suite looks really dated by today's standards, but we where so f**ng proud of it. And Start 8 was not even in sight by 2001. ;-)
P.S.: I don't think it is an IP issue, so broken record "IP needs an update" ist not called for. ;-P
Is that rounded square a Windows 11 thing? What causes this? Is there a solution to avoid this?

I have one VM with OpenShell configured like this. Screenshot is from that one.
I was hoping to achieve a reaction from one of the Masters. :-)
Why do You try to install the software again after you wanted to uninstall it with the purge at all?
Wow, glad there is a solution. :-) Tough one. Tested in my VM and worked like a charm.
Windows and OS/2 are the Video 2000, and VHS of the Computerworld. ;-) Perfect examples, that not the best wins every time.
Perfect German. :-)
Hear hear. :-) A big thank You personally for calming me at times and always being polite. You are really special and I hope we will spend many more years here. And: 13 months. :-D
Of course I made sure that Jonas' machine is NOT a VM when I looked at his machine. Let me ask a question: That video doesn't look like a Win 10 vanilla install. It was stressed out several times that the problem occurs with vanilla installed Win 10 . ALso it looks like there was Fences installed before. That doesn't resemble the problem at all. My guess is, that something is missing with a newly installed win 10 that Fences needs and that was there with naturally u

Out of interest I created a fresh vanilla install of the build in question on Hyper-V and installed Fences as first thing. There is a problem with this build You can recreate. Fences.exe /forceinitialsetup did not help. Made a Video. Hope, this helps.
So I made sure, there is nothing interfering (standard services and apps running on the machine). AND there IS nothing, as this is a really vanilla install of Windows 10.
Funny, that it seems to occur on fresh installs.
There is def. something going in with Windows 10 and Fences. I've seen the exactly same today. Unable to get Fences 4.10 to work » Forum Post by Jonas_007 (stardock.com)
So I did a Teams session with Jonas and I didn't get it to work also and I am very surprised. We did a purge, restarted and a new install together (made sure that everything 'stardock' and 'fences' was gone from the drive) and then restarted. When starting fences we got the config window, but where not able to create a fence, When looking deeper I noticed, that after trying to create a fence, Fences wants to be enabled. THAT simply doesn't work, which is the culprit. Fences simply
Can You tell me what app You have running showing the performance in the taskbar? Is that XMeters?
wish they would still make themes like that these days.. but wont happen, everything these days is cheap and shit.. and made with the absolute least amount of effort and costs 5x more than it did back in the day lol (not talking about themes but talking about everything in life in general lol)
Ignoring the fact that 'these days' it is 5x harder and needs more time to do a skin (thanks to changes of windows). Not so much, more like this (excuse the chaos):
Yes, not possible. ;-) I think, there where some other requests (including me) to have an optional menu instead of the list when clicking 'All Programs'. ('Cascading sub-menu')
