Update 2 maybe won't be here till Oct 2014. So, I will enjoy Start8 for sure till then. And maybe I will keep it if the "new" Startmenu shows to be just another marketing gimmick.
Do you guys plan a version for Surface RT?
I have the current 1.31 working fine on 8.1.1 - it still opens the start menu :). The need may be a bit less with the updates brought by 8.1.1 but there still is no start menu available.
After a reboot it works again. False alarm :)
I have installed the upcoming Feature Pack and found some issues with the latest 1.31 release: - Corner menus no longer work when Start8 is active (on non touch device) - Moving mouse to left side of Start8 start icon no longer shows "dark start icon" to open Modern UI - Opening Start8 does not automatically place the cursor in the search field (at least not consistently). For the rest all works well. Hope there will be an update soon :)
Don't know as when I go out of power save mode, task manager shows only current usage. Is there a tool to log CPU/processes?
I've been using Start8 since 1.0 and was pretty happy. Lately though Start8 is causing very high CPU usage when the PC is in idle (screensaver active - black screen). To compare I uninstalled Start8 and tried Start Menu from Reviver. Besides a very interesting concept, the high CPU issue has disappeared and my PC is nice and cool again (handy should there be a summer this year).
