I've done all the reinstall/rebooting steps for both machines. Problem persists. The video from @david327 is not quite showing my exact set-up. I do not have large icons on the left, but a list.

I can't post a video as I have now uninstalled Start 10. I have discovered other ways it crashes explorer.exe. It occurs when you have Start 10 set to show things like Control Panel or Windows Administrative Tools to show as a menu (not a link). When you click on the menu item, such as Control Panel, explorer.exe crashes. As I said, this is repeatable on different machines - both of which have been tested with sfc / dism. There are no faults with the Windows sy

I am using Start 10 v 1.95 (latest update installed yesterday) Windows is v2004 Build 19041.450 The error is repeatable now on two different machines - my desktop and laptop. I have run sfc /scannow - but nothing was detected as wrong (both machines) I have run DISM.exe /Online /Cleanup-image /Restorehealth but that also produced nothing as wrong (both machines) The only common factor between my laptop and my desktop is that they both run Int

Everything on Start 10 works OK. But if I choose "Windows Administrative Tools" nothing happens except the Taskbar disappears because explorer.exe has crashed. This is repeatable behaviour. Why does it happen? I am using the latest Start 10 (updated today) and the most recent version of Windows.
Ahh so you have Admin tools set to show as a menu from the start menu?
Yes, precisely. The explorer crash happens when selecting any Start 10 item set as a menu - except the Control Panel, except that becomes very slow to load

Yes, I have uninstalled and reinstalled Start 10 and the problem persists. I also tried something I haven't tried before. I had the universal apps set to a menu rather than a link. Selecting that menu also leads to the explorer.exe crash I am not trying to blame Start10 by the way. I fully appreciate the issue is probably located in the Windows v2004 update. (It has several problems apparently - one of which is going backwards to a previous version doesn't seem to work..!)

In reply to Neil, there are two other forum entries which specifically mention v2004 conflicts - neither of which are the issue which you say is going to be fixed. In reply to AzDude, I can run Administrative Tools OK with Start 10 installed - just as long as I don't select them from Start 10 I have Administrative Tools as a Menu on Start 10. I have Start 10 as the menu of choice upon clicking on the Windows start icon. I click on that icon, select Administrative Tools and the

This forum has a number of posts showing how the update to Windows 10 v2004 has broken Start10. I have identified another issue. When you select any of the Administrative Tools from the Start 10 menu it causes Explorer.exe to crash. If you select any of the Administrative Tools that rely on MMC via the Windows menu the MMC crashes. Neither of these things happens once Start10 is uninstalled. Given that other users have identified other problems with Sta
