Came here from my post here as I've been having this issue for over a year, well before the "incident". I also encounter adding new posts taking several minutes to complete. Hopefully someone can find the cause as it's quite frustrating.

Hi, I didn't want to create a whole new thread for this, I can if you want just tell me which forum, but any idea why your download service is so slow? We're talking about a 54MB file that should take seconds, yet it can sometimes take 15min to get it, often timing out so I have to keep resuming. Happens for both release and beta downloads. I'm in Luxembourg, we have some
So I have tried the 2.55 beta and it has improved things as the Steam icons are now bigger, but it did highlight that in fact two of the game icons, Blue Prince and Clair Obscur are actually Xbox game app icons, and they have both remained the same smaller size. I also noticed that the option to Stretch Image is not available to me, and stays greyed out.
I tried the advanced option and set it to large, and all it changed were all the other icons which were suddenly comically large. Then when I changed it back to medium I noticed some non-Steam icons staying small:
Hi, but the icons are fine when I switch resolution and they change by a large amount compared to the change of resolution, plus this is all my Steam games, I just don't have many installed at the moment. I also just remembered, that I have the preview of the Xbox application that can add Steam games to its library, and those icons are fine.
For some time now I have noticed that Start11 is not sizing Steam icons correctly on my Win11 gaming PC and seems to depend on screen size and scaling. I use the Windows 10 style. I normally connect to my 4k TV, and have the resolution set to 3840 x 2160 and scaling at 225% When I add any Steam game to my the Start11 menu this is how it s
Would it be possible to set the default icon size used when pinning an application to the Start Menu? I always use the Win10 style with nearly all icons being "small", but when I pin something new it always chooses medium and I end up with all the current icons getting shuffled around. Sorry if this is already an option, but the only one I could find was under Start Menu, Configure Menu, Advanced which says is for shortcuts but has no effect when I pin applications.
Removing it manually negates it being a 'normal install', yes?
Which is probably 99% of all Windows installs, does everyone keep Notepad, Wordpad, Paint, Teams, "Games", News, Weather ....... installed on their machines? Anyway, back to the beta. Seems to work just fine on Windows Server 2025 so far. I still need to use it a bit more and rebuild my original start menu again - of course, without webview.
Neil is correct on all fronts. Nearly all normal Windows 11 installs should have this installed by default (and a very high % for Windows 10) as MS uses it themselves. Sean Drohan Stardock Product Lifecycle Manager
No they're not, you state it yourself " Nearly all normal Windows 11 installs" so not all and as Windows Server 2025 is the
Currently testing Windows Server 2025 and as they have replaced the start menu with the horrible one from Windows 11 I thought I would see if Start11 would work. When I try to install it I get this: It's removable on Windows Server as it's an unnecessary piece of garbage, along with the Edge browser replaced with either Brave or Firefox depending on the need - please can
Does the explorer restart help it?
Nope, sorry should have stated that when I mentioned it.
I have v1.25 running on 4 different Windows 11 machines, two on the current release, one on release preview and the last on beta - they are all set to Win10 mode and similar if not the same settings as each other. They all behave the same - I install or update (which does an uninstall during the process, removing their icon) an application yet the icon(s) for it do not appear in the start menu for what seems like forever, they don't even get listed under "Recently installed", sometimes needin
Would really like to see this come to Start11, I use it on Win11 in Win10 mode and get fed up of constantly having to re-tick apps to appear in the system tray especially after the apps get updated. I have always shown all icons since Windows had a system tray and for Microsoft to disable the option to do this for Win11 has made no sense to me.
shell:::{05d7b0f4-2121-4eff-bf6b-ed3f69b894d9}
I've already done that on 4 different Win11 machines, some on latest release others on preview release, and it does nothing when enabled
Is there any possibility on Windows 11 for Start11 to add back the option to always display all tray icons which MS removed? It's so frustrating to have to keep re-enabling icons when they get set back to not showing often just when the application was updated. I always show them all and have it set to two rows with Start11 set to Win10 mode.
Actually I do get the same but only after the other problem happens - can fix it by restarting Explorer
I cannot confirm the first one as it's fine for me, but I see the same for the right-click on the left. <img src="https://cdn.stardock.us/forums/48/48/4848223/ac
I cannot confirm the first one as it's fine for me, but I see the same for the right-click on the left.
V1.6. Lft click icons on the right down corner, still shows up on the left screen. Reduced 43%</div
Loving the new force expand icon size for tiles in Win10 mode, but would be nice for the option to use another icon could also use icons from .exe and .dll files like the normal icon chooser in properties. I find that sometimes the apps own icon doesn't show very well and I can see what I want from another application. Great improvements all round [e digicons]5*[/e]
The reason for the large space is because you enabled "show more tiles" and you haven't placed anything in the 4th column - this was the same in real Win10
