I have taken the plunge and installed 3.0.8.1. It looks like the problem is resolved for me with a 2 monitor set up on an extended desktop with around 200 icons in 12 Fences/Folders. On my system <span style="display: inline !important; float: none; background-color: transparent; color: #000000; font-family: 'Segoe UI',Arial,sans-serif; font-size: 16px; font-style: normal; font-variant: normal; font-weight: 400; letter-spacing: normal; line-height: 20.8px; orphans: 2; text-ali

Current version (3.07.6) is reported as unsafe by Windows Defender Smartscreen and does not download. Fences 2.13 will download so presumably there is something in the 3.07.06 file that Windows Smartscreen does not like. I haven't tried the round of tests as I have stuck with 3.03 and File Explorer changed to single click operation which has worked for me until there is a definitive fix.

Having updated to Windows 10 Fall Creators (1709), the problem is still the same. I use Fences 3.03 as the click delay is just tolerable (2/3 seconds), when in double click mode. I suspect that 3.05 will be back to 5 seconds as before. As I posted before, the instant fix is to change the click behaviour in File (Windows) Explorer and choose " Single-click to open an item (point to select)". The other options in that sec

I am still running v3.03 which is just about usable on Win 10 Creators. As I posted before this problem has arisen since Creators Update, and the current version (3.05) is unusable. The solution for instant response is to change the click items behaviour in Windows Explorer, or, for frequently uses programs pin a shortcut to the taskbar. Maybe Stardock will fix this one day, (dream on!)

Any progress on this issue? There has been radio silence from Stardock on this killer issue. I am still using v3.0.3 which is just about tolerable with Windows 10. I have around 180 icons and folders on my desktop spread over 2 monitors. The current 3.0.5 has 4-5 second delay when trying to do anything (left or right mouse click). More often than not a left double click will autohide all the icons. In other words it is entirely unusable. Disabling Fences gives an

Same problem here with Win 10 Pro 64bit 1703 Creators. The latest Fences is the problem. Any click activity is a 3-5 second delay. Double left click often turns off all the icons. Reverting to 3.03 makes it better but not perfect. With no Fences installed instant response. Fix Please!!

The Fences 2.1 desktop and icons also appear when Windows (File) Explorer is started. This would seem to suggest that the problem is something to do with the way that Fences interacts with the Explorer Shell.

As stated elsewhere on this forum, I have exactly the same problem with fences 2.1, there are no icons on the desktop until you press right mouse click. I am running Windows 8 Enterprise 64 bit with a multi monitor configuration. I also use Start 8. There is another problem, whether it is related to Fences or Start 8, I do not know. When a new programme is installed and creates a desktop icon, the desktop icon does not appear on the primary monitor, it
