Okay, some more data: The Start10 Start Menu can find some programs, and can't find others. There are Windows native programs and 3rd party programs in each category. Can find: Blender, Notepad, MusicBee Can't find: Snipping Tool, Substance Designer, xNormal, LibreOffice Writer, MKV-HC My laptop which also upgraded to Windows 10 1803 doesn't have this issue, possibly because it has the Home edition, not the Pro edition?

It seems to me that people are describing a number of different problems here that relate to the search function. Is anyone else getting the problem where they can't find certain programs using the Start10 Start Menu search, further described in this topic ? For example, when I search for 'Snipping Tool' in the Start10 menu, I find no results. I find this program instantly using the default Windows 10 start menu.

I've gone through all of those steps when I reported this issue the previous time in June, and it took reinstalling a pre 1803 Windows 10 to fix this. https://forums.stardock.com/489574/page/1/#replies Anyways, I can confirm that all of those boxes are still checked. The problem instantly reoccurred when Windows 10 forced the 1803 update again. Unfortunately, reinstalling an out of date version of Windows every time the

To be clear about Windows 10 having changed short cuts, post Windows 10 update 1803 my Start10 search can't find many programs that aren't windows things, for example Substance Designer, any of the LibreOffice programs, OBS, Quixel Suite, xNormal, etc. Is this consistent with the culprit suggested here?
Would you happen to know what the restore did that fixed your issue? The only think I've installed in the last three months is the newest Windows 10 update and I don't believe that is reversible.
I'm not sure. It's possible that Cortana had been completely corrupted on the old install, because I noticed after the restore that the 'Search' option was gone from settings and had been replaced with a 'Cortana' option. So,

I tried all of those before I came here. In any case, that article is about the default Windows 10 start menu not working. At least for misticmcl and I, our Windows 10 start menus are fine. It's just the Stardock Start 10 start menu that can't find programs. We're comparing Start 10's results to the Windows 10 start menu here.

That works and it doesn't, AzDude. I enabled the 'Search should include files outside the standard libraries' setting, and I'm now able to find executables for programs, but not the programs themselves. This is still clearly not functional behavior. I used to be able to search for the names of programs, and the default Windows 10 start menu search still finds programs by their names. I don't know the exe filenames for most of these programs, frankly. Sometimes searching for the name o

I am experiencing the same symptoms as described above, beginning with a recent repair installation of Windows 10. With the Windows 7 or Modern Style start menus, pressing the start button does not bring the taskbar over borderless windows. With the Windows 10 style menu it works as it should. Windows 10 Pro x64 v1607 (Build 14393.105) EDIT: I now see and can confirm that the 1.51 beta version fixes this error.
