At risk of sounding like a complete idiot, is there a way to migrate my current pre-version 6 'fences' to the 'tab' format? Or do I have to start over? If that is the case, how do I create a [new] tab? I read through this thread, but found no answers, and the tab menu in Fences 6 seems to only say, "to create a tab drop one fence on top of another." [By the way, I tried to do that by making two new fences and dropping one on top of the other, but nothing happened.] I want to get the icons wit

After the Stardock site came back up, I began having issues again with activation of Fences [all other Stardock software are fine]. On a whim, I uninstalled v/5, rebooted, installed v/6, then followed Post #5 above. Bingo! Thanks.

I actually haven't tried, but OD sure wants me to. In the screenshot you can see that I have "two" Fences ready to install. This is with the Insider Builds option unchecked. That's how I inadvertently installed it in the first place. I just thought it [the first option] was a regular update. It wasn't. I don't know if I am a lone wolf, but I think it might be a good idea to have a look-see. <img src="https://cdn.stardock.us/forums/47/42/4742024/140b375a-e7e4-459d-b8bd-2538b642a9

Thanks. I guess that has changed. Appreciated. Edit: Actually, I already have that option UNchecked, yet OD wants to download version 6 again. There used to be a setting that specifically said "Betas." If it's still there, I can't find it.

Yes, I tried that. Thanks. Did not work. I just did it again and opened the Fences folder and it was empty. I found it here [along with all of my Stardock installations]: C:\ProgramData\Microsoft\Windows\Start Menu\Programs\Stardock - this is just where Stardock installed all my software by default. In any case, Fences 5 now works [version 5.88]. However, OD keeps wanting to update it. Can't find any setting to turn off downloading betas. I know it used to be there, but at the moment I c

I answered my own question. I uninstalled the beta - rebooted - installed v5 from my account - rebooted -issue persists - uninstalled - rebooted - installed v5 from a previous v5 installation package I had on my PC - rebooted - issue still persists. Fences were saved, thankfully, but I cannot otherwise use the program. Any attempt to open Fences settings results in the activation notice and it fails everytime, both by my Stardock log-in credentials or my Fences key. This is very frustrating.

I am having this error 212 as well. I had my v5 set to auto take a daily rollback picture. If I uninstall beta 6, and reinstall v5 will I have access to these snapshots? See: How to go back to Fences 5 from Fences 6

I only had two folders like that - 4 & 5 [I had reformatted my PC about a year ago, so that is why I didn't have any earlier]. No folder for v/6. I deleted the two I had, but it still gives me the same error. The thing is, I was notified by OD's updater that software was updated and ready to install. Simultaneously, it downloaded Fences & Fences 6. I wasn't interested in trying a beta so I chose "Fences," but it installed 6 anyway.

Same here, only my fences are still there. However, I cannot activate it. I have an active ObjectDesktop subscription. I tried logging in to Fences after version 6 installed and I rebooted. Tried via my ObjectDesktop log-in credentials and also tried my lifetime Fences key [I must have purchased that separately a long while ago before I purchased the whole shabang]. Neither worked. Any way to rectify this without uninstalling 6 and then reinstalling 5? I should also point out that I cannot ev

Did not work. My only Fences folder was Fences 4. I deleted that, but I still can't activate or use Fences! Update: I uninstalled both versions [?] using Revo Uninstaller and removed all traces of Fences. Of course, then I had icons all over my desktop. Anyway, after a reboot, I installed Fences 5 and my purchased license worked. Just spent a load of time rearranging my icons into new fences. Not sure it was worth the upgrade.

The purchased key for Fences 5 that was on my order receipt does not work. I just tried my OD key as you suggested. That does not work. As I said, I also tried the 30 day free trial. Couldn't even activate that. They all give the same results.

I purchased a lifetime license for Fences 5. I also have a longstanding OD subscription. My problem is that I cannot install Fences 5 because it will not accept the provided license key. I tried the 30 day free trial, received my e-mail & clicked, with the same result Error Code 212. My version of Windows 11 Pro is the latest official release which was updated this past Tuesday. Assuming that works itself out, should I first uninstall version 4. or will version 5 simply overwrite it? Plea

I am a Windows Insider - in the Beta [middle] ring. Windows 11 was just offered up this past Thursday. Not entirely thrilled with it, but maybe it's just because of my initial reluctance to accept change. Anyway, as far as Stardock goes - Fences [beta], Icon Packager, Cursor, WindowsFX, and Launch all seem to be working well, so far. Haven't attempted any others. I would imagine Start10 is a lost cause at this time. I have the entire OD suite, but those are the programs I regularly use. So fa

I know it's early, but I am wondering what the software developers of the Object Desktop suite think the effect Windows 11 will have on it. Looks like the new Windows will feature pretty drastic graphical design changes. I read somewhere - I think it was on the Windows Insider site - that the taskbar will be off-limits for changes. Do you think it is a chance for new opportunities, or might it spell the end of OD as we know it, or somewhere in-between?

It starts & opens every day when doing its update check. Used to do that silently unless it had an update. Another issue - I am frequently being asked for license credentials for Start 10, Windows Blinds, Deskscapes, etc. My subscription is up-to-date.

I wouldn't know how to make a video. Basically: 1 - make a fence with enough icons to create a scrollbar 2 - order them as you wish 3 - open a program that will not use your default resolution 4 - the icons in that fence reorder themselves as they wish That's it. No really big issue, just a pain.

Fences 3.0.9.11 - Windows 10 Pro 1909 - Resolution: 3840 x 2160 New PC & Monitor I suspect this might be related to the high resolution as I never had this issue before I bought this new setup. Fences are fine UNLESS I have more icons in a fence than a row can hold. [I have it set up for 7 icons in a row] In other words, a scrollbar for the icons within that fence is enabled. In that case, after opening a game that uses a different resolution results in the icons within th
