pelaird, did you apply 24H2 yet? I have enhanced mode enabled but the option is not showing up. I uninstalled Start11v2 before I applied the update and reinstalled it after. I did retain the previous settings. Note that the screenshot you posted and the one I posted are of the same settings page.

That's the windows option, if you use it, it disables start 11 taskbar options, I think there is a warning message

It would be nice if you can add a (start11 autohide mode) toggle on the taskbar right click menu. Right now it takes 5 clicks and a long scroll down to turn it on and off, and that option really isn't a (set it and forget it) kind of thing. Depending what you are doing you may want the taskbar to autohide or not. As you know using the corresponding windows option will disable a lot of start11 taskbar functionality. Another option is if it can be a taskbar icon that toggles it
referenced file it is stuck on is in the specified folder dated 13-Jun-2024 signature time stamp from 2006
DXdiag shows no problems across the board, note that the current dx is directX12 which is supported by my nvideo video card:
Downloaded manually (no speed issues), however the installation itself got stuck (looks like it wasn't object desktop after all). There is possibly an issue after all. update: killed the setup (since it's stuck) ran dspurge which I got from another post, rebooted, ran the installation again (run as administrator), same result, it stopped at the exact same file (d3dx9_30.dll). Initially it just stopped there then after a while it goes to (not responding). At this point I don't know wha
I had no problems with the update install however when I tried to use object desktop to reinstall deskscapes, it just got stuck although that maybe more of an object desktop issue, or perhaps there is extra load on stardock servers... It's on a 1Gbit wired fiber connection. I will try manual download.
Keep in mind that windows update will place a hold on applying the update regardless whether descscapes is compatible or not, it seems to just look for any software that customizes wallpaper to place the hold. I had to uninstall it, reboot, and update group policy before the update showed up in windows update. I will reinstall deskscapes after the update installs, it is downloading right now.
See screenshot you can see the alignment is top-left meaning vertical:top and horizantal:left. I would prefer center-top because the icons look better when they are symmetric within the fence
Thank you. I did a clean windows install and the same for start 11 v2/fences/deskscapes, and everything seems to be ok now
Sadly some app icons don't have transparent backgrounds so they look ugly if the taskbar background doesn't match theirs like this: Windows 11 doesn't allow customizing the icon for windows apps, so i took the time to take each one create a shortcut, customize the shortcut icon, unpin the app from the taskbar and repin it from the customized shortcut. Sadly whenever there

1. Uninstalled DeskScapes 11 2. Ran the cleanup batch file your team provided in other posts 3. Rebooted 4. exited Object Desktop from system tray 5. started object desktop with (run as administrator) 6. Installed DeskScapes 11 Beta from OD Results: 1. desktop and toolbar immediately went pitch black as soon as I went to the desktop after the installation was completed 2. As before the beta build not only didn't fix animated back

I left the Insider program, because I wanted to make sure that I have a version of Windows that Stardock will support Deskscapes on. [quote who="pelaird" reply="20" id="3924668"] Sorry for your issue, but it was worth a try. I'm running the Beta channel 22635.3350 and DeskScapes works as expected. MS must have made some changes to how desktop background are displayed that is causing issues with DeskScapes. not sure if this helps but windows personalization background shows black and the stretch option is set to (Fill) personalization colors set as below
They were all checked, I did try to change them to match yours without effect. I also tried to uninstall deskscapes including removing settings/dreams, and then rebooting, then reinstalling 11.01 without effect. However eventhough I selected to remove all stored settings, I noticed some of them didn't change back. When I played with the direct show option (I assume the middle choice EVR is the default), i did at one point get 1 or 2 windows called Activemovie that show
For me the updated build didn't fix the animated backgrounds, but it also stopped the static backgrounds from working. Both the background and the taskbar are pitch black. Note I am also using Start 11 V2, and fences, latest beta of all 3. Otherwise start/fences are working fine. Cheers
For reference the issue happens on Deskscapes 11 too, I am also on windows insider which is why I didn't report it. Still backgrounds work fine, just not animated. Back when it was working (before the most recent windows update), it would sometimes stop animating, and I would open deskscapes and it would say something like (Deskscapes requires XYZ feature to work properly, can we enable it?), and when I say yes, it would work again. Unfortunately it stopped asking that
For me the taskbar pins work for some programs but not for others, not sure why, and these are normal desktop apps. However, i can tell you that for the ones that don't work, If I right click the white icon on the taskbar then right click the name of the application on the context menu that opens and select properties, if I click ok on the dialog that pops up, there is an error: <

Come to think of it, object desktop has never displayed that word beta on any of the apps
1. Enhancement: PIn folder menus are excellent but they are missing one feature. Right now you can only place shortcuts to standard apps. If it is doable, it would be great if we can pin windows store apps to the pinned folder. For example, I want to have a pinned folder called games so I don't clutter my taskbar with game stuff when I'm working, but I can't pin my laptops game performance tool (omen) in that folder. 2. (issue?): I have the (show betas) option enabled on object
I have 1.47 beta installed on 2 win 11 pro machines. One of them has an issue where when I right click the buttons on the taskbar, nothing happens. Strangely the other one is configured identically but doesn't have the issue. I am not sure if this is Start11 or win 11 since I'm running Dev branch which you mentioned isn't supported. Just mentioning in case anyone else has it. Thanks Edit: The issue went away after I uninstalled Start11. Not sure if this makes it a legi
